Broadway star Chilina Kennedy stopped by News 4 New York over the weekend to talk about her role in the musical, BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL.

The full cast of Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, the smash hit musical about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will perform in City Parks Foundation's SummerStage festival in Central Park for one-night-only, tonight, August 3 at 8:00 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM).

The 17th annual Broadway Barks fundraiser - the star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore - was held July 11 in Shubert Alley. BROADWAY BARKS announces their 17th annual star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, this event features celebrities from the hottest shows on Broadway.  The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will take place on Saturday, July 11 in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. where you meet all the adoptable dogs and cats; celebrity presentations of adoptable pets will take place between 5:00-6:30 p.m. This year's event will be co-hosted by Bernadette Peters and Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's 'Girls'). The event is free and open to the public.

As scooped first by BroadwayWorld.com earlier this week here, the hit Broadway musical BEAUTIFUL is headed to the big screen. Sony pictures confirmed today that 'The film version of 'Beautiful' will be produced by Tom Hanks; Gary Goetzman, a producer whose movie credits include 'Mamma Mia!' in 2008; and Paul Blake, the lead producer of 'Beautiful' on Broadway. Douglas McGrath, who wrote the book for the stage production, will work on the screenplay.'

Kennedy begins performances on March 7, 2015, succeeding Tony Award-winner Jessie Mueller, who will play her final performance in Beautiful on March 6 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street).
