The Not-For-Profit organization U.S. Aerial, Inc. works to raise the profile of aerial arts in America. They will hold the second annual U.S. Aerial Championships on May 13 through 15, 2016 in New York City at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Ave. The on-going annual event presents professional aerial artists on a professional stage and offers them a platform to use as a springboard for their careers.
As of this spring, Seth Bisen-Hersh has produced, emceed and accompanied over 400 showcases at Don't Tell Mama during the past 9 years. To celebrate, he has invited 74 showcase alumni to return to the stage in 5 concerts of his songs in what he deems: Seth's 400th Showcase Nonapalooza! The five concerts will be: Today, May 3rd; Today, May 10th; Friday, May 13th; Monday, May 16th; and Today, May 24th, all at 7PM. Shows are all at 7PM at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th St. There is a $12 cover and 2 drink minimum. Returning to 50 Kent Avenue on Sunday, September 6, Maceo Plex takes over with DJ Tennis, David August [live], Rebolledo and special guest DJ Koze, followed by the official afterparty at the Verboten club featuring back-to-back sets from Maceo Plex and Rebolledo, DJ Tennis and DJ Koze. Odd Parents warms things up at both the day and night events.
Returning to the Brooklyn waterfront at 50 Kent Ave, Verboten's StageONE Festival presents the second edition of its top-notch four-event summer series on Sunday, August 23 with a first-rate lineup of talent, striking production of lighting and visuals, and its luscious menu of food and beverages. With his highly acclaimed debut solo album In Colour released earlier this summer, prolific beatmaker and producer Jamie xx joins Verboten resident Maya Jane Coles, a live set from Matador, German superhouse duo andhim, Ukrainian sensation Nastia, and Verboten mainstays Bedouin.
