New York Stage & Film's Annual Gala to Honor Patricia Wettig, Ken Olin, And Johanna Pfaelzer

New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will honor playwright and Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Wettig (F2M, 'Brothers and Sisters,' 'thirtysomething') and Executive Producer/director/actor Ken Olin ('This Is Us,' 'Alias,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'thirtysomething'), and, in recognition for her years of dedication to New York Stage and Film, Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who is stepping down from her post at the end of the 2019 Powerhouse Summer Season.

BWW Review: THE WOLVES, Theatre Royal Stratford East

This is a play about the highs and lows of teen development, exploring what it means to be a girl today. And despite being set in America, the themes are universal to all. As one of the characters points out, football - or in this case, soccer - is a sport that's played everywhere and therefore it needs no vocal language.

Theatre Royal Stratford East Announces Queer Lates

Theatre Royal Stratford East today announces that on Thursday 8 November they will host Queer Lates, a cabaret night paying tribute to the East End's queer scene and celebrating queer performance and the contribution of the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. The evening will be hosted by Rhys's Pieces, and will feature entertainment from a variety of Queer talents including Drag Queen Dolly Trolley, Drag Kings Chiyo and Benjamin Butch, international solo artist Rubyyy Jones, and the Girls Aloud Drag tribute act Gals Aloud.

Southern Rep Theatre Announces Extends A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2

Southern Rep Theatre has announced that its Regional Premiere production of A DOLL'S HOUSE, PART 2, by Lucas Hnath, will extend one additional week, running now through October 28. The production opened Monday, October 8 to rave reviews and is the first Mainstage production of Southern Rep's 2018-19 season in their new permanent home located at 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans. 

Southern Rep Theatre To Launch New Play Development Project About Historic Bayou Road

Southern Rep Theatre today announced that it has commissioned Louisiana playwright Pamela Davis-Noland to lead a team of artists, neighbors (past & present), and vendors from the historic Bayou Road of New Orleans, to create an interactive, multi-disciplinary play that will premiere next year as part of the theater's 2019-20 season. The announcement of the project, titled BAYOU ROAD: A JOURNEY, A VISION, AND A PLAY, was made live at the re-opening celebration of The Rose Collaborative Campus (formerly the St. Rose de Lima Campus), where Southern Rep is now located permanently at 2541 Bayou Road. At the event, local performance artist Tonya Boyd-Cannon debuted a moving song and monologue from the play in development, which can be viewed here.  

The Playwrights Realm Announces 2018-19 Writing Fellows

Over the past twelve years, The Playwrights Realm, led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, has continually produced work by brave new voices and expanded its commitment to providing holistic support to playwrights striving to make a life in the arts. With its 2018-2019 Writing Fellowship, The Playwrights Realm is proud to grant a career-propelling honor to four tremendously talented playwrights exhibiting drive and commitment to the form: Bleu Beckford-Burrell (Lyons Pride), Sarah Einspanier (I LOVE SEAN), Keelay Gipson (#NewSlaves), andElse C. Inaugural Melbourne Theatre Company @ MPavilion Program Announced

Melbourne Theatre Company will present three events as part of MPavilion's 2018/9 program, including one of New York's most eminent young theatre directors, Lila Neugebauer, in conversation with MTC Literary Director Chris Mead on Thursday 6 December. 

CWRU CPH MFA Program Offers Immersive Production Of THE SEAGULL

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to begin their season with a modern reimagining of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull. Chekhov's classic play about artistic rebellion, translated by Paul Schmidt, will star the MFA Class of 2020 and guests. Director Sarah Wansley's staging will shed light on the show's poetic realism. Press opening will be on October 9th at the Helen Theatre in Playhouse Square and the show will run from October 10th-October 20th.

Under the cold lights of an indoor soccer field, nine teenage girls prepare for a game. As they drill and stretch, their lives spill onto the Astroturf in a tumble of vulnerability, goofiness, and ferocity. 'I just don't get what the big deal is about, like, self-knowledge,' one player ponders, while others bicker about the Khmer Rouge, how to take a good silly photo, and the avalanche of small-giant moments that comprise teenage life.

A.C.T.'s Master Of Fine Arts Program & Young Conservatory Announce 2018–19 Production Lineup

Johanna Pfaelzer Named Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre

New York Stage and Film announced today that Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer will be stepping down from her longtime leadership position with the organization to become the new Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre beginning September 1, 2019.
