FALL FOR DANCE FESTIVAL Launches 9/16 at Delacorte Theatre

New York City Center will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its Fall for Dance Festival with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 at 8 p.m.(rain date, September 18).

New York City Center is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Fall for Dance Festival with a very special season, beginning with two FREE evenings of dance at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, hosted by The Public Theater, on September 16 and 17 (rain date, September 18). The Festival will continue at City Center from September 25 - October 5 with performances by 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world, including three new works from today's most exciting young choreographers, commissioned by New York City Center in celebration of the tenth anniversary. The Festival's many free pre-show events will include dance lessons and panels by choreographers, artists and dance educators. All tickets are $15 and will go on sale Sunday, September 8 at 11 a.m.

NY Philharmonic's A DANCERS DREAM Set for Limited Theatrical Release, Beginning 9/12

SpectiCast has partnered with the New York Philharmonic in collaboration with Giants Are Small to bring an exciting new production, A DANCER'S DREAM, to select cinemas nationwide beginning September 12, 2013. This extraordinary multi-media production, which blends dance, live animation, pre-recorded video, puppetry, and circus arts, was captured live in New York City at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall on June 29, 2013, and was directed and designed by Doug Fitch, conducted by Alan Gilbert, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and stars New York City Ballet principal dancer Sara Mearns. The one-of-a-kind cinema event will feature the complete production, behind-the-scenes footage, as well as a brief intermission feature on Stravinsky's history with the New York Philharmonic, including video and never-before-seen material from the New York Philharmonic Digital Archives.

Tom Gold Dance to Return to STARS OF BALLET in Bilbao, Spain, 8/21-22

Tom Gold Dance has been invited back to be a part of Stars Of Ballet in Bilbao, Spain, as part of the program Works & Process at the Guggenheim. This will be the 5th season for the company in Bilbao. They will present performances on Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22 at 7:30 pm at El Auditorio del Museo Guggenheim, Bilbao, Spain.

New York Philharmonic Kicks off 2013 Concerts in the Parks Today

The 2013 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will return for the 48th season with five free outdoor concerts, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, in Prospect Park, Brooklyn (today, July 10); Cunningham Park, Queens (July 11); the Great Lawn in Central Park, Manhattan (July 13 and 15); and Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx (July 16). In addition, the New York Philharmonic Brass will give a Free Indoor Concert at the Center for the Arts, College of Staten Island, CUNY (July 14).

Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - tonight, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

New York Phil's July Radio Broadcasts to Include GILBERT'S PLAYLIST & More

The July broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begin with a Summertime Classics program from July 2012 titled 'A New York Fourth,' conducted by Bramwell Tovey. The Hellcats and Jazz Knights from the West Point Band, conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Jim Keene, perform 'American Heritage' and 1940s Big Band Swing selections, including Oliver's 'Well, Git It,' Ward's 'America the Beautiful,' and Miller's 'In the Mood.' They also join the New York Philharmonic in Sousa's The Liberty Bell March and The Stars and Stripes Forever March, as well as Philip Egner's The Official West Point March. Soprano Tracy Dahl sings works by Bernstein and Gershwin on the first half of the broadcast.

School of American Ballet's Workshop Benefit Raises Over $820,000

The School of American Ballet's Workshop Performance Benefit 2013 at SAB on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 honored Peter Martins' and Kay Mazzo's 30th Anniversary with the School and raised more than $820,000 for scholarships and school programs. The evening began with cocktails at 5:30pm, followed by the presentation of Mae L. Wien Awards for Outstanding Service to Mr. Martins and Ms. Mazzo respectively by Kate D. Levin, commissioner of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and Sterling Hyltin, New York City Ballet Principal Dancer.
