Featuring everything from puppetry to live guitar to scuba-diving birds, the latest offering at Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) sends up and "under the sea" a classic fairy tale in a truly satirical style. Little Fishmaid opens Thursday, June 23 at 7:00 pm. 

Helmed by Sam LaFrage, the Ragtag Theatre Company is back. Following their rip-roaring THE COMMEDIA RAPUNZEL, the talented troupe is tickling ribs with their latest concoction: THE COMMEDIA CINDERELLA. Billed as LGBTQ theatre designed for the entire family, this show puts a refreshing and much appreciated new spin on the timeless fairytale, finding a way to speak to the individual heart of every member of the audience.

Origin Theatre Company presents the North American premiere of the internationally acclaimed Swedish novelist and playwright Jonas Hassen Khemiri's "The Hundred We Are."  The fascinatingly timely memory play's limited Off-Broadway engagement performs at the cell, 338 West 23rd Street, from Wednesday March 16 to Friday April 8, with an Off-Broadway opening on Monday March 21 at 8pm.

Something special is happening off-Broadway at the SoHo Playhouse. A troupe of talented performers calling themselves The Spaghetti and Meatball Players are encouraging everyone to be weird with THE COMMEDIA RAPUNZEL, a new show written by Sam LaFrage and directed by Dennis Corsi and LaFrage.

With over 200 shows presented at FringeNYC Festival and 900 at Edinburgh Fringe, it's hard to be in the know about what's worth seeing. Even worse is having missed the show everyone is talking about post festival. Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Fringe Encore Series will present some of the most critically-acclaimed and crowd-pleasing shows from both festivals. But more importantly, pinpoints and cultivates the theater talent of tomorrow.

A stand-out hit at the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival, The Commedia Rapunzel has been selected as a "Best Of" from nearly 200 FringeNYC shows and the only Fringe Jr. show selected to receive additional performances at the FringeNYC Encore Series, beginning September 12th at SoHo Playhouse.

The 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC presents NO ONE ASKED ME, a new play by Kate Ballen, inspired by the true stories of undocumented immigrant NYC high school students. Matthew Newton directs a cast of nine including Octavia Chavez-Richmond, Ashlee Danielle, Gary De Mattei*, Alaina Fragoso, Corneilus Franklin, Jessica Maria Kight, Veda Kumarjiguda, Terra Mackintosh*, and Jihan McKenzie. New York actors Sam LaFrage and Martha Hearn will return to Columbia in June to teach workshops in Advanced Acting and Improvisation for the Actor at Columbia Children's Theatre. Mr. LaFrage's Advanced Acting Workshop will run from June 3 - 14 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Ms. Hearn's Improvisation for the Actor will run from June 3 - 7 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
