The critically acclaimed musical Mama and Her Boys will return to New York for a limited engagement beginning February 4 at the brand new Sophies, 318 W. 53rd St. between 8th and 9th Avenue. Performances will continue Tuesdays at 9pm through February 25. Creators and original cast members Ethan Paulini, Christopher Sidoli and Wendy Watson will appear on February 4 and 18. The cast will also include original Provincetown cast member Sean Maddox and original New York cast members Erik Keiser and Sarah Kleeman.

(UMC) just announced its 2014 season, which will launch on April 5 at 8pm with Unsung Carolyn Leigh, a special evening produced forLincoln Center's American Songbook at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse. This talented family will perform a host of holiday favorites and tunes from their various forays on the Great White Way in the tradition of the Andy Williams Christmas specials that mesmerized them as children. Balagan Theatre continues their effort to get new musicals a place to be heard with their New Works Summer Series and their offering of the new musical “Island Song”, a show exploring the lives of the young and ambitious in a city that can at the same time foster and crush such ambition.

The evening was hosted by Andrew Kober and Danielle Wade. Andrew Kober made his Broadway debut in the 2009 Tony Award winning revival of Hair after originating the roles of Father and Margaret Mead in the Shakespeare in the Park production. He also played the roles in the West End revival in 2010. He has also appeared on television in 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Pan Am' and 'House of Cards.'

Tonight, August 5th at 8pm, Sam Carner and Derek Gregor's Barely Legal Showtune Extravaganza V will play (le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). This marks the fifth installment of the four-­?time sold-­?out concert series by the Richard Rodgers Award winning composers.

Carner and Gregor have announced the winners of the BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA V casting contest. Eight winners were selected from over 100 submissions received from college students around the country. Winners were selected by a four-person judging panel comprised of Casting Directors Michael Cassara and Jason Najjoum, Concert Director Marlo Hunter, and Concert Producer Alina Gutierrez. Carner and Gregor were not involved in the judging process. After four sold-out editions, Carner & Gregor's BARELY LEGAL SHOWTUNE EXTRAVAGANZA is back for its fifth year. The concert will take place Today, August 5th at (le) Poisson Rouge. Showtime is 8PM. Doors open at 7PM.
