Arizona Opera announced casting today for their vibrant 2022/23 Season, which will feature an exciting array of productions, ranging from beloved classics to new works, including a return to five in-theater shows in both Phoenix and Tucson.
They include Hank Zipzer, co-written by Emmy® Award-winner Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver; the paranormal adventures of My Babysitter’s a Vampire; and a new season of the cult favorite teen dance series, The Next Step. Additionally, seasons 5-7 of The Next Step will be available this summer.
I like musicals, in theory. I genuinely don’t like very many of them in practice. I know that the true and beautiful melding of rock and musical theatre is possible, because I have seen it. When I’m hard on musicals, I am not angry. I am disappointed. I know that musicals can be good.
