The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce acclaimed stage and screen actor Amanda Plummer as the recipient of the Festival's second annual TENN Award.

Benjamin Lazar Davis (Okkervil River, Cuddle Magic) is sharing an advance stream of his debut solo album Nothing Matters, which is out this Friday and features collaborations with Kimbra, Alex Toth of Rubblebucket, and Bridget Kearney of Lake Street Dive. The record's charming pop sounds have been winning over early fans at NPR, KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, and Consequence of Sound, among others, and Gold Flake Paint, who premiered the album stream, call it 'something both textured and terrific; a varied pop record that takes on various faces but feels bound by something unseen; a lightness of touch like gossamer unseen.'

Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) announces its exciting 2018/19 season: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, the Tony Award-winning play adapted by Simon Stephens based on the book by Mark Haddon, directed by Steppenwolf Artistic Producer Jonathan Berry; and the world premiere of Radical by acclaimed playwright Matthew-Lee Erlbach, inspired by the book White American Youth by Christian Picciolini, directed by SYA Artistic Director Hallie Gordon. I'll be honest. I was not a huge fan of the musical Oklahoma! In my opinion, it's one of those creaky old chestnuts that gets done to death by every theater company at some point or another, right up there with other overdone 'classics' like The Music Man, My Fair Lady, or Oliver! I appreciate the historic value of these oldies, but I feel like newer and lesser-known fare gets shoved aside.

Deidrie Henry returns to The Armory to star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Lanie Robertson's riveting portrait of Holiday's life told through an imagined final performance in a small bar in South Philadelphia in 1959. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Bill Fennelly returns to The Armory to direct after previously directing Gypsy, Black Pearl Sings and, most recently, Little Shop of Horrors. Deidrie Henry, who most recently played Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Armory, will be joined on stage by Abdul Hamid Royal, the production's music director who also plays the role of Jimmy Powers, along with local musicians Charles Neal (drums) and Andre St. James (bass).

The Porters present the first show of their 12th Season: The Tempest marks their 26th Shakespearean Production. Longtime company member Alex Parker will make his directorial debut; Leon Russom returns to the boards to play Prospero.

The Brits Off Broadway season continues at 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) with the US premiere of ALL I WANT IS ONE NIGHT, written by Jessica Walker, with music director Joseph Atkins. Produced by Jess Walker Music Theatre, in association with Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, ALL I WANT IS ONE NIGHT begins performances on Tuesday, June 5 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 1.

The wildly popular, sell-out hit CARDS AGAINST HUMANITY: Late Night Writers Room returns once again for one night only on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10 pm at The Greenhouse Theater Center (Downstairs Mainstage), 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. The evening will be co-hosted by Chicago comic artists Kevin Budnik and Sage Coffey. 

Established to perform intimate and unique opera performances, Opera180 is launching its 2018 season with the highly interactive production of Bon Operatit. Performing at the Squeezebox Theatre on April 27-29, this exciting event will consist of three parts including composer Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit based on Julia Child, a cooking demonstration by a local KC chef, and Jennifer Jolley's Krispy Kremes and Butter Queens inspired by the colorful Paula Deen.

An explosive combination of thundering rhythms, masked choreography and post-apocalyptic martial imagery is headed for Coventry this spring as Europe's only professional touring Taiko drumming ensemble comes to the Belgrade Theatre. Performing for one night only on Thursday 10 May, the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers are set to wow audiences with a spellbinding, one-of-a-kind live show.
