An explosive combination of thundering rhythms, masked choreography and post-apocalyptic martial imagery is headed for Coventry this spring as Europe's only professional touring Taiko drumming ensemble comes to the Belgrade Theatre. Performing for one night only on Thursday 10 May, the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers are set to wow audiences with a spellbinding, one-of-a-kind live show.

Audiences have started to listen again at Studio 54. That's because Children of a Lesser God is back, and it officially opened last night on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God stars film and television favorite Joshua Jackson and breakout star Lauren Ridloff, alongside Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards, Drama Desk Award nominee and Obie Award winner Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty. Vietgone by Qui Nguyen is the Vietnamese-American playwright's own creation story-a telling of his parents' 1975 refugee camp romance in a "geek theater" spectacle that's at turns affecting, sage, raucous, and fantastical. A screenwriter for Marvel Studios and founder of Obie Award-winning company Vampire Cowboys, Nguyen's work champions representation and diversity on stage while dripping with pop culture nods, contemporary music, and action-adventure narrative. The production pairs this Studio-commissioned playwright with director and Studio Cabinet member Natsu Onoda Power. Drawing on Vietgone's comic book aesthetics, Studio's Stage 4 is transformed into a garage concert with a live band and original funk-rock-punk-n-roll score, giving audiences a front row seat to this anything-but-typical story of boy meets girl.

Today, the legendary, multi-award-winning, multi-platinum and million-selling artist Lisa Stansfield returns with the release of her new album, 'Deeper.' The album is available via digital download, CD, limited edition boxset and 12' vinyl in North America from today. The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce that tickets to the Annual Dinner are now on sale. The Festival will host the gala on Saturday, June 2 at Town Hall in Provincetown. The fundraising event supports the Festival's 13th annual program, which will play in venues throughout Provincetown September 27-30, 2018.

Twenty-five years after federal agents raided an armed religious compound outside of Waco, Texas that was led by self-proclaimed messiah David Koresh, a new documentary tells the inside story of the sect and the bloody battle that resulted in one of the longest standoffs in American history. Featuring previously unseen archival footage and using only firsthand accounts by survivors and those directly involved in the tragedy, WACO: THE LONGEST SIEGE looks at unexplored facets of the Waco story, the Branch Davidians and their charismatic leader, and the uneasy relationship between the media and national law enforcement agencies, which further complicated the deadly series of events that claimed 75 lives, including 25 children. WACO: THE LONGEST SIEGE premieres Monday, April 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Smithsonian Channel.

A powerful, perhaps even necessary, play that doesn't always succeed dramatically but can be forgiven for the boldness of its narrative and unflinching take on a divided city in a divided nation.

St. Luke's United Methodist Church is proud to present the highly inventive Peter and the Starcatcher. This swashbuckling prequel to Peter Pan is an adventurous tale complete with madcap comedy that will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight. Written by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker, the story is based on the 2004 children's novel of a similar name, co-written by humorist Dave Barry and suspense writer Ridley Pearson. The book and play are an origin story for the character of Peter Pan and a prologue to the events in J.M. Barrie's Peter and Wendy.

American Blues Theater concludes its 2017-2018 Season with BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story, written by Alan Janes, directed by Lily-Anne Brown, with musical direction by Ensemble Member Michael Mahler. BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story runs April 27 - May 26, 2018 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. 

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 120 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 9-14, 2018 in multiple locations throughout the Center. The Center also announced the national awardees for the KCACTF.

Hot off her seven-week tour with synth legend Howard Jones, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Rachael Sage has released her cover of Jones' song “No One Is To Blame” via Billboard. “When the Night is Over,” a new song from Lord Huron, debuts today. Of the track, singer/songwriter/producer Ben Schneider says, “We wanted this song to feel something like a Raymond Chandler story, a desperate search through a rain-soaked, neon-lit city. The groove section in the middle is one of my favorite passages on the album.” The track appears on the band's highly anticipated record Vide Noir, out April 20 on Whispering Pines/Republic Records.
