The Hit Broadway Musical Hairspray is making a big, bold appearance at the Legacy Theatre! This upbeat and powerful show opens July 6th and runs through August 5th.

Theatre Calgary's artistic director Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Broadway; Carrie, Off-Broadway revival; Altar Boyz, Off-Broadway) is thrilled to officially announce the casting for the world premiere of Mary and Max - A New Musical, with music and lyrics by Bobby Cronin, book by Crystal Skillman, directed by Arima, choreography by Jenn Rapp, and orchestrations and music supervision by Anna Ebbesen.

Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) announces the full casting for its first show of the 2018/19 season, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. On June 15, 2018, Sing For Your Seniors hosted the latest in its series of Broadway Sessions with cast members from "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" at the Edie Windsor SAGE Center in Chelsea as part of Pride Month. SAGE is the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. The musical performance included songs of the performers' choosing as well of songs from "Beautiful." The audience enjoyed a one-hour session, as well as a meet-and-greet visit with the cast following the performance.

The Brits Off Broadway season continues at 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) with the US premiere of ALL I WANT IS ONE NIGHT, written by Jessica Walker, with music direction by Joseph Atkins.

American Documentary (AmDoc), the producing company of the PBS series POV, launched the Artist Emergency (AE) Fund today, aimed at providing emergency financial assistance to filmmakers facing unexpected and substantial personal, health or property needs or losses including those caused by accidents or natural disasters.   To date, this is the first fund of its kind dedicated to supporting nonfiction filmmakers.

Netflix has acquired worldwide film rights to Gulfstream Pictures Production's The Last Summer, an ensemble romantic comedy with an all-star cast of young actors. The film will be directed by Bill Bindley.
