Deidrie Henry returns to The Armory to star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Lanie Robertson's riveting portrait of Holiday's life told through an imagined final performance in a small bar in South Philadelphia in 1959. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage.

The conversations seek to provide an opportunity for members of the Washington, D.C. community to engage in civil discourse about social and political issues, and will demonstrate-with the goal-that people of diverse viewpoints can have fruitful dialogues with one another.

Deidrie Henry returns to The Armory to star as Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill, Lanie Robertson's riveting portrait of Holiday's life told through an imagined final performance in a small bar in South Philadelphia in 1959. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill begins preview performances on May 26, opens on June 1, and runs through July 1 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Bill Fennelly returns to The Armory to direct after previously directing Gypsy, Black Pearl Sings and, most recently, Little Shop of Horrors. Deidrie Henry, who most recently played Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire at The Armory, will be joined on stage by Abdul Hamid Royal, the production's music director who also plays the role of Jimmy Powers, along with local musicians Charles Neal (drums) and Andre St. James (bass).

Final tickets for the acclaimed Melbourne season of The Wizard of Oz will go on sale on Friday 25 May at 4pm from ticketmaster.com.au. Two additional matinees have been added to the schedule in the July school holidays, on Thursday 5 and 12 July, due to huge demand. The Wizard of Oz plays in Melbourne until 29 July.

YouTube announced that it has ordered a second season of the popular dance drama series STEP UP: HIGH WATER from global content leader Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B). Since its debut on January 31, the first episode of STEP UP: HIGH WATER has generated over 22 million views. Series regulars Singer/Actress Naya Rivera (Glee) and Actor/Comedian Faizon Love (Couples Retreat, Elf) are set to return in the second season of the 10-episode, hour long series which begins production in the fall and debuts on YouTube Premium in 2019.

East Village-based mixed media artist and MPress Records' flagship musician Rachael Sage will be showing her latest artworks from now through June 23 at Think Gallery (1 Bleecker St. near Bowery) NYC. The gallery will also be presenting a special reception for Sage's new work on May 30, where fans can meet the artist, have a free glass of wine and ask questions in an intimate, casual atmosphere. Sage primarily paints with acrylics, fabric paints, and watercolors, often incorporating diverse materials such as sequins, rhinestones, glitter, and newspaper.
