There's just one month left to vote for the 2018 BroadwayWorld Berkshires Awards, brought to you by BroadwayHD! Nominations were reader-submitted and now our readers are already setting records as they vote for their favorites. Regional productions, touring shows, and more are all included in the awards, honoring productions which opened between October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. Our local editors set the categories, our readers submitted their nominees, and now you get to vote for your favorites! Voting will continue through December 31st, 2018.

As a kid, I remember watching White Christmas (1954) every year with my family. When I got a little older I came across Holiday Inn, the 1941 precursor that also starred Bing Crosby, but paired with Fred Astaire, and introducing the song 'White Christmas'. There was a widely held opinion among some of my friends that it was the superior movie, an attitude that remained as long as we were only watching the edited version on commercial television. Because you see, they always cut the Blackface number. Once you see it, all innocence about this movie is lost. It forever tarnishes a film that contains two of Fred Astaire's most innovative numbers: the firecracker dance, and the drunken New Year's Eve tango that is a masterpiece of comic movement. Even for the time this number, egregiously inserted for the Lincoln's Birthday sequence (yes, it was once a holiday), seems shocking and offensive.

A staple of the Philadelphia theatre season for the past 13 years, This Is The Week That Is brings to the stage sharp satire and content that changes with the headlines. Longtime a cappella vocal group The Art Mob presents their Fall Concert series with a highly relevant program of old-time tunes-everything from Tin Pan Alley, jazz, and radio gospel to Appalachian folk tunes and shape-note hymns. If it's obscure or forgotten, the Art Mob will find it and sing it.

Main Street Artists, an Indiana-based touring arts organization, for the third consecutive year will present the musical comedy "Christmas Through The Ages" at IndyFringe on Thursday, December 20 at 7:30pm, Friday, December 21 at 7:30pm, Saturday, December 22 at 7:30pm and Sunday, December 23 at 4:00pm.  Performance will take place at the Basile Theatre at IndyFringe, 719 E. Buffalo's Irish Classical Theatre Company has programmed and produced a gem of a play in their most recent outing, SIVE, by John B. Keane. Such a perfect blend of expert acting and captivating story telling is playing out in a play that would seem to have been exclusively written for this company. But while SIVE is a well known commodity on the other side of the pond, it's relative obscurity in the States allowed Buffalo's audiences to be sucked into the brilliant story.

What happens when you look around and can never find your story? Not "Your" Story per se, but a story that is yours enough that you can relate to it, embrace it, say, "Yes, that is my story".
