Huntington Scores 29 IRNE Nominations for 2013 Productions

Huntington Theatre Company has received 29 IRNE Award nominations from the Independent Reviewers of New England for its 2013 productions. The Committee recognized the Huntington with the following nominations:

BWW Reviews: IT'S A HORRIBLE LIFE (Adults Only!)

Ryan Landry and the Gold Dust Orphans mash-up GREY GARDENS, Mrs. Grinchley, and IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE for a new holiday musical parody that is sure to earn its wings. Clever sets, delicious costumes, creative choreography, and new stars join the Orphans regulars to put on a show that is anything but horrible.

Varla Jean Merman and The Gold Dust Orphans Star in MILDRED FIERCE, Opening Tonight

TWEED TheaterWorks & Theater 80 St. Marks have announced the highly anticipated NYC return of Varla Jean Merman with Boston's acclaimed Gold Dust Orphans in the New York premiere of MILDRED FIERCE, a dizzily entertaining sendup of the 1945 classic 'MildrEd Pierce', which will begin previews on Saturday, October 5that Theater 80 St. Marks. The production, written by Ryan Landry will have it's official opening tonight, October 12th at 10:30PM and will continue performances until October 27th.

Boston Journalists to Discuss Ryan Landry's Work at Humanities Forum This Sunday

Boston Theater Critics Association Announces 2013 Elliot Norton Awards Nominations

The Boston Theater Critics Association has announced its nominations for the 31st Annual Elliot Norton Awards. The awards, which recognize excellence in Greater Boston theater, will be presented on Monday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Paramount Mainstage, 559 Washington Street, Boston. Tickets are $30 (including post-party) and available by phone at 617-824-8000 or online www.nortonawardsboston.com. (Use "NortonSave" code to receive $5 off for the month of April only.) Huntington Theatre Company Adds 'M' Performance, 4/28

Due to popular demand, the Huntington Theatre Company has added a performance of Ryan Landry's "M" on Sunday, April 28 at 2pm. Known for his blending of classic source material with his unique brands of comedy and imaginative theatricality, Landry (Mildred Fierce) transforms Fritz Lang's 1931 film iconic film about a city panicked by an elusive child killer into a surreal, screwball take that is both hilarious and heart-stirring. The production began previews on March 30 and opens tonight.

The world premiere of Ryan Landry's "M", legendary Boston artist Ryan Landry's inspired take on Fritz Lang's film noir masterpiece M, begins at the Huntington Theatre Company on March 29. Known for his blending of classic source material with his unique brands of comedy and imaginative theatricality, Landry (Mildred Fierce) transforms the iconic film about a city panicked by an elusive child killer into a surreal, screwball take that is both hilarious and heart-stirring. Directed by Caitlin Lowans (Turn of the Screw at Stoneham Theatre), the production's ensemble cast includes Gold Dust Orphans' regulars Larry Coen and David Drake, as well as Boston favorite Karen MacDonald (Good People and All My Sons at the Huntington) in the title role that made film actor Peter Lorre famous.

Ryan Landry and the Gold Dust Orphans take on Joan Crawford (and Bette Davis) in the noir musical MILDRED FIERCE. Add this one to a long string of hilarious productions recognized by their clever irreverence, dazzling costumes, done-on-a-dime sets, and multi-talented ensembles. Varla Jean Merman is the icing on the cake.
