GLSEN, the leading education organization focused on ensuring safe and inclusive schools for all students, honored Brendon Urie, the cast of POSE, Ace Schwarz, and the Loveless Academic Magnet Program High School, GSA Spectrum, last night, at the annual GLSEN Respect Awards – New York at Cipriani 42nd Street. The event raised $1 million dollars to create safe and LGBTQ inclusive K-12 schools.

The Paley Center for Media today announced that it will honor the LGBTQ+ community, and the television series that broke barriers, shattered stereotypes, and brought audiences together at The Paley Honors: Tribute to LGBTQ+ Achievements in Television on the Occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall. This momentous occasion will take place at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan on May 15, 2019, at 6:30 pm.

New York Theatre Workshop, in association with producer Brian Moreland, will present a private reading of Thoughts of a Colored Man, a new play written by Keenan Scott II, directed by Taye Diggs (Rent, Chicago, TV's 'All American'), and choreographed by Jenny Parsinen (Allegiance), on Friday, November 30 at 3 PM at NYTW's Fourth Street Theatre.

Just last night, the New York theatre community joined forces with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas survivors and activists from March For Our Lives to present a one-night only concert event: Broadway Fights Back with March For Our Lives. Stars from stage and screen came together with notable activists to perform protest anthems and songs of change from both musical theatre and popular genres.
