Taye Diggs to Direct Reading of New Play THOUGHTS OF A COLORED MAN

New York Theatre Workshop, in association with producer Brian Moreland, will present a private reading of Thoughts of a Colored Man, a new play written by Keenan Scott II, directed by Taye Diggs (Rent, Chicago, TV's "All American"), and choreographed by Jenny Parsinen (Allegiance), on Friday, November 30 at 3 PM at NYTW's Fourth Street Theatre.

Inspired by the need to understand the human experience, Thoughts of a Colored Man challenges eight men as they seek to find their identity beyond the limitations, stereotypes, and obstacles that the world attempts to place upon them.

The cast for the reading will include Tony Award Nominee Charl Brown (Motown) as Happiness, Ryan Jamaal Swain (FX's "Pose") as Love, Biko Eisen-Martin (Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's The Taming of the Shrew) as Lust, James T. Alfred (Fox's "Empire") as Depression, Ruffin Prentiss (E!'s "The Arrangement" and CBS' "SEAL Team") as Anger, Esau Pritchett (HBO's "The Night Of") as Wisdom and Deshawyn Wyatte as Passion.

The Thoughts of a Colored Man team includes Foresight Theatricals (General Management), Shannon Stoeke (Associate Director), Megan Schneid (Stage Manager).Erica Jensen, CSA and James Calleri, CSA of Calleri Casting (Casting Directors).
