Uke Night is back! The third installment of the musical evening devoted to the Ukulele created and hosted by Jeffry Denman, (multi-Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Astaire Award nominee and Bistro Award winner, star of Irving Berlin's White Christmas on Broadway and last year's Kid Victory at the Vineyard Theatre) as part of Jim Caruso's Broadway at Birdland series.

Theatre Aspen announced casting for the organization's 35th Anniversary Season, which includes Ragtime, Godspell, and Our Town today. This season's productions promise to bring world class theatre dramatically closer by presenting talent from Broadway, national tours, and training programs from across the country.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present another 'Uke Night,' a Broadway celebration of the ukulele!  The one-night-only event took place on Monday, April 2 at 7pm.

'Disney's Newsies' has been making headlines all this summer at America's regional theaters, from the MUNY in St. Louis to the Music Theatre of Wichita. The annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is a fertile ground for quirky, offbeat musicals, giving invaluable exposure to new projects. When I first heard that ZOMBIE STRIPPERS would be performing at NYMF this year, I couldn't help but get excited. The title alone offers enough titillating connotations to tantalize the brain, filling it with voluminous curiosity as to how a creative team makes a musical about strippers who happen to also be zombies. Unfortunately, the current end product leaves something to be desired.
