The new musical, A SCYTHE OF TIME is being presented as part of the New York Musical Theatre festival at the June Havoc Theatre (312 W 36th Street). A SCYTHE OF TIME is written by Alan Harris with music and lyrics by Mark Alan Swanson. It will be directed by David Alpert (IF/THEN), with musical direction by Ryan Cantwell (National Tour: Pippin, Finding Neverland). The Off-Broadway show, Liberty: A Monumental New Musical, which opened on July 4, will end its current run on July 24 and plans to resume performances this fall.

VINCENT, Leonard Nimoy's play about artist Vincent van Gogh, will have its Off-Broadway premiere from April 1 through June 5 at the Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 W 46th Street. Opening night is tonight, April 7 at 7pm.

One of the theater world's most prestigious playwriting prizes, the Yale Drama Series Prize, will be given to Emily Schwend for her play Utility.  The 2016 award recipient was chosen by playwright Nicholas Wright, who has served as judge for the 2015 and 2016 competitions.

 Tweiss Productions and Nicholas James Opalenik/Event Horizon Productions opened their musical Hell's Belles in Times Square on Saturday, October 24th at 5:30pm. Hell's Belles has a book and lyrics by Bryan D. Leys and music by Steve Liebman. Hell's Belles began performances at The Elektra Theatre at The Times Square Arts Center (300 West 43rd Street) on October 3 for a limited run through December 27, 2015.
