Works & Process At The Guggenheim Presents A Dance Commission NEW BODIES

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents an encore of choreographer Jodi Melnick's sold-out 2016 commission, NEW BODIES. This Works & Process commissioned work weaves together dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with live music, featuring New York City Ballet dancers Jared Angle, Sara Mearns, and Taylor Stanley in a role originated by Gretchen Smith, with harpsichord by composer Gy rgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and commissioned music by Robert Boston.Also, Melnick, who enjoyed a performance career with Twyla Tharp (among many others), will perform One of Sixty-Five Thousand Gestures, a solo work created in collaboration with the late Trisha Brown.

Baryshnikov Arts Center Presents Anton Batagov & Attacca Quartet in World Premiere

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its Spring 2018 Music Series with Anton Batagov and the Attacca Quartet on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This varied evening of music features the World Premiere of Different Things from influential post-minimalist Russian composer and pianist Anton Batagov, paired with Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18, No. 6. Batagov's Different Things will be performed by the composer (at the piano) and the Attacca Quartet, one of America's premier young string ensembles, along with Kris Saebo, double bass; Linda Jones, soprano; Luthien Brackett, mezzo soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; and Steven Hrycelak, bass.

Charlie Carver Completes Cast for Broadway's THE BOYS IN THE BAND

Producers Ryan Murphy and David Stone have announced that Charlie Carver ('The Leftovers,' 'Teen Wolf') will complete the cast of the 50th Anniversary production of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking play, The Boys in the Band. Carver will play the role of Cowboy.

Baryshnikov Arts Center Announces Spring 2018 Music Series Starting 1/16

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Spring 2018 Music Series, which runs January through April and features an eclectic lineup of premieres and performances by international musicians. Los Angeles Ballet (www.losangelesballet.org), the city's own and only professional classical ballet company, brings back the holiday favorite The Nutcracker at LAB's home theatres: UCLA's Royce Hall, Glendale's Alex Theatre, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center and the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The performances at the Dolby Theatre will include a live orchestra.

Audience Favorite John Ringling's Circus Nutcracker Returns To The Sarasota Balle

Choreographed by Matthew Hart and designed by Peter Docherty, John Ringling's Circus Nutcracker is a full length family friendly ballet envisioned as a gift to the City of Sarasota. Sarasota, FL (November 30, 2017) The Sarasota Ballet's production of Matthew Hart's John Ringling's Circus Nutcracker entwines the history of John and Mable Ringling, and Sarasota's unique connection to the Circus with Hoffman's classic tale of The Nutcracker. Opening December 15 at the Van Wezel for three performances, the ballet is performed with a full orchestra the Sarasota Orchestra making it the only Nutcracker in the Sarasota Manatee area with live music.
