30 Years of Fosse's ALL THAT JAZZ

Bob Fosse's 'All That Jazz' is a semi-autobiographical fantasy film that centers on the tumultuous life of choreographer Bob Gideon, played in the film by Roy Scheider, a hedonistic workaholic. The film was largely inspired by an episode in Fosse's life during which he frantically worked to stage his 1975 Broadway hit, 'Chicago' while editing his feature film 'Lenny', based on the life of comedian Lenny Bruce.

SDC Announces Jonathan Moscone as First Recipient of Zelda Fichandler Award

Stella Adler Outreach Division Provides Free Training To NYC Public Schools

The Stella Adler Outreach Division provides free actor training to New York City pubic school students who might not otherwise be able to afford it. The Outreach Division offers year-long instruction to these aspiring artists with the same intensity and integrity of all the Studio's other learning tracks. The program also addresses at-risk youth's need to have a safe place to find and express their voices.

Roy Scheider, Film & Stage Actor, Dies at 75

Roy Scheider, actor of stage and screen and noted for his thrilling role as Police Chief Martin Brody in the Hollywood hit Jaws, passed away on Sunday February 10, 2008 at the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was 75.

Cohen & West to Star in Churchill's 'Drunk Enough?' at The Public

The Public Theater continues its spring season with the U.S. premiere of Drunk Enough to Say I Love You?, a new play by Caryl Churchill presented in association with the Royal Court Theatre. This two-character play, directed by James Macdonald and featuring Scott Cohen and Samuel West, comes to The Public after an acclaimed run at the Royal Court in London last year. Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? will begin previews on Wednesday, March 5 and run through Sunday, April 6 with an official press opening on Sunday, March 16 at 7PM.

Seldes, Modine, Lipton, Etc Set for Clurman Festival 9/14-17

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting will celebrate the 2nd annual Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts from September 14 - 17. The Festival will comprise four days of theater, poetry readings, concerts and symposia.
