It's cold outside, but Meadow Brook Theatre warms things up with a magical musical folk tale. In almost non-stop song and dance, 'Once On This Island' tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island in the Caribbean. Tradition forbids the match - but when the gods of water, love and death that rule the island take an interest, just what will Ti Moune give up for love? And can love really conquer all?

Skylight Music Theatre is creating a new production of the award-winning musical Once On this Island. The production runs January 30 through February 22, 2015 in the Cabot Theatre at the Broadway Theatre Center (158 N. Broadway, Milwaukee WI).

Hattiloo Theatre, the shiny 'new kid on the block' in the midtown theatre district of Memphis, has shed its 'ugly duckling' feathers and suddenly become a sleek swan; no longer limited in facilities and seating, it has taken exotic flight with a fanciful musical staging of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's calypso-driven ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, based on Rosa Guy's MY LOVE, MY LOVE; or, THE PEASANT GIRL.

West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive Musical Theatre Camp, Formerly Moorhead Horizon Middle School Musical Theatre will present "Once on This Island, Jr" on July 1st at 7:00 pm and 2nd at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at West Fargo High School Theatre, 801 9th Street East, West Fargo, ND. Over 50 middle school aged students from Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo are participating in this camp, which started June 10.

Enrollment is now open for Marin Theatre Company's Summer Performance Camp for students entering grades 1-10 in the fall in the 2014 and Professional Actor Training Program for students entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2014. An audience of theatre enthusiasts waited in anticipation at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts last night, when Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora of TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, unveiled the thrilling line-up for its 2013-2014 season. Opening with a groundbreaking World Premiere developed at last season's New Works Festival, the line-up will also give Bay Area audiences their first look at a Broadway hit by playwright Jon Robin Baitz (The Substance of Fire, A Fair Country, Three Hotels); an Off-Broadway smash by Kenneth Lin (Fallow, Po Boy Tango); and a historical drama from Lauren Gunderson (Exit, Pursued by a Bear). Also announced is an enchanting musical journey told through little-known Stephen Sondheim gems.

Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith announced the company would scrap its traditional subscription format while producing an ambitious slate of three seasons and nine productions for the Theatre's 2014 76th Anniversary Season. Three "mini-seasons" will feature Rolling World Premieres, 20th century American classics, four extraordinary musicals and an outdoor Shakespeare production beneath the stars.
