LAByrinth Theater Hosts A Benefit Event With Short Plays & A Dance Party 6/16

LAByrinth Theater Company (John Ortiz, Artistic Director; Philip Seymour Hoffman, Co-Artistic Director; John Gould Rubin, Co-Artistic & Executive Director) will present a one-night-only Benefit event featuring short plays and a dance party on June 16, 2009 at St. Paul's Hall (Columbus Avenue at 59th Street). All proceeds will benefit LAByrinth Theater Company.

Gawn Grainger, Douglas Henshall, Susan Lynch and Joseph Mawle will be joined by LAByrinth Theatre Company member Ron Cephas Jones in the European premiere of Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Last Days of Judas Iscariot directed by Rupert Goold. The Almeida Theatre and Headlong co-production opens on March 28, 2008 with press night on April 3, and is running until May 10.

'A Raisin in the Sun' Premieres at Sundance, Airs on ABC Feb.25

The highly anticipated 'ABC World Premiere Movie Event: A Raisin in the Sun' has been selected to be screened (out of competition) at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival, January 23, 2008, it was announced yesterday by the Sundance Institute. This will be the first time that a broadcast network film will be featured at the celebrated festival.

Signature Theatre Company Nominated for 16 AUDELCO Awards

The Signature Theatre Company 2006-2007 season productions of August Wilson's Two Trains Running and King Hedley II have been nominated for 16 AUDELCO Awards, which recognize excellence in black theatre. The winners will be announced on November 19 at a ceremony held at Aaron Davis Hall.

'The Overwhelming' Hosts Rwanda Talkback Series with IRC

Roundabout Theatre Company is pleased to announce a post-show talkback series 'Rwanda: Past, Present and Future' at their American premiere production of The Overwhelming. The series will take place over a number of Tuesday evenings this fall (October 2, 30 & November 13), following the performance. The series will feature speakers from the International Rescue Committee (IRC), members of The Overwhelming creative team and Roundabout teaching artists.

E.S.T. One-Act Festival Includes LaBute, Cho, Etc.

Ensemble Studio Theatre will present Marathon 2007, E.S.T.'s 29th festival of new one-act plays, at E.S.T. (549 West 52nd Street). Performances begin Thursday May 31st, and continue through Sunday, June 30th.
