Roundabout Theatre Company's limited engagement of The Overwhelming will play its final performance on Sunday, December 23 at 2PM. This American premiere of The Overwhelming written by J.T. Rogers and directed by Max Stafford-Clark features Mark Blum, Chris Chalk, Ron Cephas Jones, Tisola Logan, Boris McGiver, Owiso Odera, Charles Parnell, Linda Powell, Sam Robards, Michael Stahl-David and Sharon Washington at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). 

The Overwhelming will have played 29 preview performances and 72 regular performances. Previews began on Friday, September 28, 2007 and opened officially on Tuesday, October 23, 2007.  

"The Overwhelmingis the gripping story of an American family, newly arrived in Kigali, Rwanda, in early 1994, who come face-to-face with the realization that nothing and no one around them is what they understood it to be. Finding themselves embroiled in events beyond their understanding, three Americans struggle to discover who they can trust and what they will do when faced with matters of life and death," explain press notes.

The Overwhelming plays Tuesday through Saturday evening at 7:30PM with Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2PM.  www.roundabouttheatre.org
