PlayMakers Laboratory will present its annual benefit: Fancy Schmancy: A Gala of Living Art on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 7 - 11 pm (6 pm VIP reception) at its new venue, Wintrust's Grand Banking Hall, 231 S. LaSalle St. in Chicago. Support arts education and join PML for an evening of cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a DJ, dancing and live entertainment, plus an exciting raffle and silent auction featuring pieces by artists from across the country. On April 3, Capitol Records will release the Promising Young Woman Official Soundtrack. Variety shared the track listing in an exclusive announcement earlier today. Promising Young Woman was written and directed by Emerald Fennell who also produced the film alongside Luckychap and FilmNation. Promising Young Woman, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, will be in theatres on April 17. View the trailer below.
Ballet BC Brings ROMEO + JULIET to the Soraya

The Los Angeles dance event of the season will take place this weekend as The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts proudly presents Olivier Award Nominee Ballet BC in their stunningly reimagined take on the timeless tale of Romeo + Juliet on Saturday, February 29 at 8:00pm and Sunday, March 1 at 3:00pm. Romeo + Juliet is set to the famous Sergei Prokofiev score and choreographed by French choreographer Medhi Walerski. Following The Soraya performances, Romeo + Juliet will tour to Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia then to the Sydney Opera House where Ballet BC will make its Australian debut.

The Syracuse University Department of Drama is beginning the spring semester with William Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet.' Directed by faculty member Thom Miller, this production brings a fresh take to Shakespeare's timeless classic about a pair of star-crossed lovers. 'Romeo and Juliet' previews on Feb. 14 and opens on Feb. 15 in the Archbold Theatre at the Syracuse Stage/SU Drama Complex, 820 E. Genesee St.
Amazon's THE POWER Sets Further Casting

Amazon Studios has today announced further casting for The Power, an urgent 10-part global thriller based on the international bestselling novel of the same name, produced by Sister (Chernobyl, Giri/Haji, The Split) for Amazon Studios with Emmy Award-winning executive producer and director Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale). The Power is adapted for screen by writer, creator and executive producer Naomi Alderman, who is working alongside an all-female writers' room, with every episode also to be directed by women.
