Disney's The Lion King opens tonight, Wednesday, June 13, at the Music Hall at Fair Park for a limited four-week engagement through Saturday, July 7, presented by Dallas Summer Musicals and Broadway Across America (BAA).

Disney Theatrical Productions and the Morrison Center are thrilled to announce that tickets for the premiere engagement of Disney's THE LION KING go on sale to the public Friday, June 15, at 10:00 a.m. Disney's THE LION KING will leap onto the Morrison Center stage on October 17 for a limited three-week engagement through November 4.

McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row. New for this season: To help insure everyone's safety in light of the growing popularity of the series, seating for films and evening concerts will begin at 6 p.m. No admittance will be allowed prior to 6 p.m. for sound check and security reasons.  Admission to Lakeside Pavilion Summer Series events and parking is always free.

YAT's Spring production season will kick off with the classic tale Disney's The Lion King, Jr. for junior actors in grades 2nd-9th. Joining Director Kim Hendrix-Racine on the artistic team are Jerrica Stone (Music Director), Wilfred Paloma (Choreographer), Astrid Pett (Stage Manager), and Luis Sherlinee (Assistant Stage Manager).

Disney's The Lion King continues to reign across North America with a record-breaking, sold-out, two-week premiere engagement at Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo, where the tour grossed over $3.4 million at the box office and entertained more than 52,000 theatergoers during 16 performances. The production, which played Miller Auditorium April 4 - 15, broke the box office record for any touring Broadway engagement in Kalamazoo.

Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) is thrilled to present Disney's The Lion King, Jr., featuring Berkshire elementary and middle school students. Directed by Travis Daly, music direction by Erin White and choreography by Kathy Jo Grover, Disney's The Lion King, Jr. will run at The Colonial Theatre on April 28 at 11am and 2pm, and April 29 at 2pm. There will be a talkback following the April 28TH 2pm performance, facilitated by director Travis Daly. This production is sponsored by Lead Sponsor, MountainOne; Lyon Aviation; Massachusetts Cultural Council and The Shubert Foundation.

For the first time, Disney's legendary stage musical, The Lion King, goes where no musical has gone before. The seventh continent. The Lion King has played on every continent except one. Opening on April 1st 2019, in a 2000 seat ice theatre, in Antarctica. Below, watch as the team behind Disney's The Lion King takes you behind the scenes as it plans its most challenging production ever. 

In 1994, the Disney animated feature The Lion King made history as the highest grossing film of the year. Three years later on November 13, 1997, the awe-inspiring stage adaptation directed and costumed by Julie Taymor opened on Broadway. It received six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. With songs by Elton John and Tim Rice, the vibrant score is by Hans Zimmer, who recruited South African composer Lebo M. to create the textural Zulu influence. Twenty-five years later, its legacy continues to reverberate around the world. In a Japanese translation of this mega hit, Shiki Theater Haru in Minato remounted the first international production of The Lion King on December 20th, 1998. This year it celebrates its 20th anniversary in Japan at the Natsu Theater in Shinagawa.

After over 2 months of rehearsals, the excitement in Manila is building as the world's #1 musical begins performances this weekend at The Theatre at Solaire. The first international tour of THE LION KING kicks off in the Philippines before additional engagements in Singapore, Korea and Taiwan.

The Children's Theatre of Charleston is gearing up to present their stirring rendition of the beloved musical The Lion King Jr. in March at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theater. Featuring music and lyrics by Tim Rice and Elton John with a book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, this family classic will have you singing along as you watch the story of Simba unfold, following him through tragedy and redemption.

Disney's The Lion King will leap onto the Music Hall at Fair Park stage on June 13, 2018 for a limited 4 week engagement through July 7, 2018.

Disney's The Lion King continues to reign across North America with a sold-out run in Jacksonville. The two-week return engagement at TheTimes-Union Center grossed over $3.1 million at the box office and entertained more than 44,000 theatergoers during 16 performances. This engagement was the second time for the show at The Times-Union Center.

The Jacksonville return of Disney's The Lion King opens tonight, Wednesday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Times-Union Center for a limited engagement of two weeks through Sunday, February 11. In Jacksonville, The Lion King will play Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. "Thus far, sales have exceeded our expectations," said Executive Director Dr. Milt Russos. "Some seats are still available during our two-week engagement, but they are going fast!"

Casting has been announced for the Orlando return engagement of Disney's The Lion King. The show's first appearance in the Walt Disney Theater at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and it's third time to Orlando, the four-week engagement runs from February 14 through March 11.

Disney's The Lion King international tour producers Michael Cassel Group, Concertus Manila, and Disney Theatrical Productions have announced that a new block of tickets for the Manila run of the musical will be made available on Wednesday, January 10, at 10 a.m. PST exclusively through TicketWorld.com.ph.

Casting has been announced for the Atlanta return engagement of Disney's The Lion King, which will leap onto the Fox Theatre stage on January 10 for a limited three week engagement through January 28 as a special to the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta 2017/2018 season.
