Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation and its Community Grant program. The grant will be used to assist funding the organization's Musical Interactive program, which will allow Lyric to increase services to students in rural Oklahoma.

Due to high demand, an additional week is now on sale through June 10. Featuring a powerful score by legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, Oklahoma! will be directed by Artistic Director and Jeff Award-winner Aaron Thielen (She Loves Me, Spring Awakening). Jeff Award nominee Alex Sanchez (Marriott Theatre: Newsies, Evita, On the Town, Mary Poppins) will choreograph, with Musical Direction and orchestrations by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson.

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - will conclude their star-studded third season with Let's Misbehave: Cole Porter After Dark at the Orchestra's new home, Arena Stage at The Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth Street SW) on Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 PM. Having appeared with Bay Area Cabaret in concert with her sister, Ann Hampton Callaway, and in a tribute to composer Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway-the Tony-nominated Broadway star of Miss Saigon, Baby, Merrily We Roll Along and Cats, and voice of the animated classic, Anastasia-makes her solo Venetian Room debut.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, will honor legendary musical theatre writing team Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

One classic play, a rock musical, a new comedy fresh from off-Broadway, and a classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical will round out the 64th season at Texas Wesleyan University's Department of Theatre.
