Every Thursday night, I sit down at my computer to write these posts. These Thursdays keep coming around so quickly. I feel like I just wrote the last one yesterday. I'm pooped. We're pooped. We are having a blast, but working very long, very hard days.

Rehearsal begins today for BARBARA COOK: THEN AND NOW, a candid and intimate evening conceived by three-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and directed by ten-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune.

The legendary Tony and Grammy Award winner Barbara Cook will share the stories and songs that shaped her life and career in Barbara Cook: Then and Now, a candid and intimate evening conceived by 3-time Tony Award winner James Lapine and directed by 10-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune.

TRIP OF LOVE, the new dance musical spectacle celebrating the biggest hits of the '60s, will continue the summer of love, offering a retreat from the cold, snowy weather with Flower Power February. All month long, TRIP OF LOVE and its partners will host 60s themed events, both at Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street) and throughout the city.

TRIP OF LOVE, the dance musical spectacle celebrating the biggest hits of the '60s, is proud to have celebrated 100 performances this Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Following the matinee performance, the company celebrated the milestone with tie-dye cupcakes to match the show's '60s style. Today in 1989, City of Angels opened at the Virginia Theatre (now the August Wilson Theatre), where it ran for 879 performances. City of Angels is a musical comedy with music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel, and book by Larry Gelbart. The musical weaves together two plots, the 'real' world of a writer trying to turn his book into a screenplay, and the 'reel' world of the fictional film. The musical is an homage to the film noir genre of motion pictures that rose to prominence in the 1940s. It was directed by Michael Blakemore with sets designed by Robin Wagner and costumes by Florence Klotz.

The music told the story then and it will again this fall as Trip of Love brings the decade to life with over 25 of the biggest hits of the '60s, including 'Blowin' In The Wind,' 'Born To Be Wild,' 'California Dreamin',' 'I Saw Her Standing There,' 'These Boots Are Made For Walkin',' 'White Rabbit,' 'You Don't Own Me' and many more.

Transylvania mania comes to Atlanta Lyric Theatre, as the metro area 's only professional musical theatre company presents Mel Brooks' hilarious musical comedy YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN now through November 8, 2015 at the Jennie T. BroadwayWorld has learned the sad news that playwright Jerome Kass has died. A Tony nominee for penning the book of the 1978 musical BALLROOM, Kass passed away in his Manhatta home on Thursday, Oct. 22 from prostate cancer. He was 78.
