Tippet Rise Art Center welcomes musicians and concertgoers for its eighth concert season, beginning August 18 and running through September 17.

Remote Theater, an award-winning theater collective born at the start of the pandemic, today announced the artistic team for a mixed-reality piece (using augmented and virtual reality) inspired by late Obie-award winning playwright Ntozake Shange's coming of age novel, Liliane. It is also the first day of the production's Kickstarter campaign where it seeks to raise funds to offset the costs required for this production. The production - titled Your Mind, Girls, is the First Battleground For Freedom - is set to launch in early 2024 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tippet Rise Art Center, located on a 12,500-acre working ranch nestled at the foot of Montana's Beartooth Mountains, today announced full program details for its eighth concert season, taking place over five weeks from August 18 to September 17, 2023.

After a pandemic interlude that saw the release of several boundary-stretching singles, Barr reconvened the core cast from his solo debut, Trembling Frames for a joyous session in late summer 2021 – guitarist, co-producer, and confidante Johnny Sangster (Neko Case, Braly Sangster, The Tripwires).

Following more than a year of disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the closing of concert halls internationally, The Philadelphia Orchestra will return to its home, Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in October 2021 to resume live concerts with in-person audiences.

Composers Niloufar Iravani, Leanna Primiani, and Hilary Purrington will each receive orchestral commissions of $15,000 as part of the Women Composers Readings and Commissions program, an initiative of the League of American Orchestras, in partnership with American Composers Orchestra (ACO) and supported by the Virginia B. Crafting moments that ricochet between meditation and a full body purge, she is an electric, adrenaline inducing performer voted Seattle's Best Classical Musician and nominated for NW Vocalist of the Year.

The trumpeter and composer Samantha Boshnack isn't a geologist by trade, but she certainly thinks a lot about earthquakes and volcanoes. Over the past 15 years, while living in her adopted hometown of Seattle, Boshnack has hiked the environs of Washington's Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens with a kind of unnerved fascination. During her travels in places like Mexico and Indonesia, she's made a point to visit the storied volcanic sites. Throughout her journeys, a couple of questions have persisted: What causes these astounding landscapes and events, and how are they all connected? And how can these vistas be so unspeakably beautiful yet also harbor such a profound potential for catastrophe?

The University of Washington has announced the complete roster of artists who have been selected as Creative Research Fellows as part of its first three-year Creative Fellowships Initiative. Funded by a $750,000 grant from the Andrew W.
