Paper Mill Playhouse has selected students to be a part of its prestigious Summer Musical Theater Conservatory for 2023.

Members of Paper Mill Playhouse's competitive Conservatory are directed and choreographed by Paper Mill Playhouse’s professional artistic staff in a fully produced, original concert titled A Whole New World: A Tribute to Alan Menken. The concert features over 90 talented young performers, on July 29 at 7:30 PM and July 30 at 1:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the World Premiere of New Voices of 2020: Pure Imagination, a musical theater montage featuring students of the 2020 Summer Musical Theater Conservatory. New Voices of 2020: Pure Imagination will premiere on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 7:00 pm on Paper Mill's Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen, this new musical is written by Jordan Harrison with music by Richard Gray, lyrics by Harrison and Gray and directed by Anne Kauffman. The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) hosted its 19th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 22, 2010, honoring Tony Award-winning librettist Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray, Elf). The evening was directed by Tony-winning director/lyricist/librettist Richard Maltby and the award was presented by Alice Hammerstein Mathias, daughter of Oscar Hammerstein II.
