Bobby the Middle-Aged Celebrity-- the nvr 2 L8 2 b famous musical opens March 18 at WorkShop Theater Company's JewelBox Theater. Directed by Natalie Mosco, this show is a hilariously funny, basically one-person musical extravaganza, written & composed by & superstarring Bobby, aka Robert I. Rubinsky. With musical direction and sarcasm by Larry Spivack, BOBBY will begin a series of special Friday late-night shows on March 18 through May 27 at the WorkShop Theater Company's (co-producer) Jewel Box Theater, 312 West 36 Street, 4th floor. When HAIR, The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, opened on Broadway at the Biltmore theatre on April 29, 1968 the musical, with book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music by Galt MacDermot and directed by Tom O'Horgan, broke new ground in musical theatre and the genre of the 'rock musical' was born.
Two-time Tony Award nominee Andre De Shields will direct a production of Hair - The American Tribal Love Rock Musical at Buffalo State College. Performances are March 13-15 and March 20-22 at Warren Enters Theatre, Upton Hall in Buffalo, NY
