Broadway continues its 2014-2015 season momentum. In addition to the 17 shows that have already opened this season -- joining the 18 long-running shows currently playing on the boards -- to date, 19 more shows have announced opening dates this spring with more expected to announce.
The New 42nd Street has announced that its annual Gala, to be held Monday, January 12 at The New Victory Theater, will honor Tony, Emmy, and Golden Globe Award-winner John Lithgow with the New Victory Arts Award for his work in "bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids." The New 42nd Street will also honor The Rudin Family with the inaugural Marian Heiskell Award for their role in shaping the future of New York City. Glenn Close will serve as Gala honorary chair.

MAMMA MIA!, the global smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will transfer from the Winter Garden Theatre to the Broadhurst Theatre this fall. BroadwayWorld has conformed that the show will play its final performance at the Winter Garden on October 19. Peformances will begin at the Broadhurst on November 2.

Creator/Producer Judy Craymer has announced that MAMMA MIA!, the global smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will transfer from the Winter Garden Theatre to the Broadhurst Theatre in late 2013.
