The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the third time this season to determine the eligibility of 11 Broadway productions for the 2016 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2015-2016 season to decide the eligibility for the 70th Annual Tony Awards.  

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is doubling down on Broadway Bets, Broadway's official poker tournament, which will return for its second edition on Monday, May 16, 2016. The spirited annual event will welcome celebrities, industry insiders and poker-faced theatre fans to Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street), New York City's iconic theatre district restaurant.

SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL will host the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools tonight, March 7, at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre.

School of Rock - The Musical will host the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools on Monday, March 7 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre.  Alex Brightman, star of School of Rock - The Musical, will emcee the event, Chancellor Carmen Farina, of the New York City Department of Education, will welcome the crowd and introduce the Shubert Organization's Chairman Philip J. Smith and President Robert E. Wankel.  Shubert Foundation President Michael I. Sovern will introduce Brightman.

The second annual Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools will take place Monday, March 7 at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway at West 51st Street) at 7 p.m. More than 100 talented students from five select New York City high schools will make their Broadway debuts performing excerpts from their winter productions.

The American Theatre Wing's 70th Annual Tony Awards will air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 5, 2016 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) live from New York City. The Tony Awards, which honors theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

The Shubert Foundation announces a record total of $24 million in grants to 488 not-for-profit performing arts organizations across 46 States. The 2015 grants mark the 33rd consecutive year the Foundation has increased its giving.
