The stars will align for the 27th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition when Tom Hanks, Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein, Andrea Martin, Nathan Lane and more than 200 of Broadway and Off-Broadway's most talented performers join together for the annual event, presented by and benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's Easter Bonnet Competition will be held Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street.

theatreWashington just announced the 29th Helen Hayes Awards nominees today, January 28th, 2013 in The National Theatre's Helen Hayes Gallery. This year, for the first time, theatre lovers in Washington and around the world were able to watch the nomination announcements live via webcast at theatrewashington.org, Facebook, or on the Livestream. The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs has just announced the winners of the 2013 MAC Awards, which were presented last night at the 27th Annual MAC Awards Show. The awards ceremony was held at B.B. King Blues Club, and the show was directed by Lennie Watts and produced by Julie Miller. Lifetime Achievement awards were presented to Tom Wopat and Penny Fuller. The Board of Directors Award was presented to 54 Below, and a special award was presented in memory of Ruth Kurtzman. The Hanson Award was presented to Elaine St. George. The show was hosted by KT Sullivan, with music direction by Tracy Stark, and stage management by Amy Wolk.

The four-time Tony nominated musical sensation JEKYLL & HYDE is celebrating its 200th performance at Chicago's Cadillac Palace as part of the show's pre-Broadway tour. Tony Award nominee Constantine Maroulis stars in the title dual role of Dr. Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde, alongside Grammy Award nominee and R&B superstar Deborah Cox as Lucy. Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, reports that multi award-winning stars Robert Cuccioli and Laila Robins will announce the nominees for the 2012-13 season on Monday, April 22nd (11AM) at The Friars Club (57 East 55th Street- between Park and Madison Avenues). Outer Critics Circle will post award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

Epatha Merkerson will share the role of the Stage Manager for this one night benefit.

Former Army Staff Sergeant Clinton L. Romesha was hosted by the USO on February 17th at SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark on Broadway. He was awarded the Medal of Honor on February 11th, 2013 by President Barack Obama. The Nederlander Organization has announced that the four-time Tony nominated musical sensation JEKYLL & HYDE will play the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a limited 3 week engagement tonight, February 12 - March 3, 2013.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present three FREE staged readings of Distant Thunder, a new musical with music and lyrics by Chris Wiseman and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, book by Lynne Taylor-Corbett and Shaun Taylor-Corbett, additional music and lyrics by Robert Nassif Lindsey, directed by Lynne Taylor-Corbett. The readings will take place on Thursday, February 28th at 4:00pm, and Friday, March 1st at 1:00pm and 4:00pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.
