ON YOUR FEET!, the new Broadway musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, nineteen-time GRAMMY winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan, opened on Broadway last night, November 5, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre. THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS recently announced their honorees for 2015 will be singer-songwriter Carole King, filmmaker George Lucas, actress and singer Rita Moreno, conductor Seiji Ozawa and actress and Broadway star Cicely Tyson. They will be recognized during THE 38TH ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER HONORS, to be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 29 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. CBS has broadcast the special each year since its debut 38 years ago.

BroadwayWorld has learned that luminaries of the Great White Way Donna McKechnie and Jerry Mitchell will serve as the co-chairs for Broadway Dance Lab (BDL)'s major fall fundraiser, to be held at the historic Judson Church, downtown Manhattan on Nov. 17 at 7pm. BDL is a choreography incubator founded by choreographer Josh Prince (BEAUTIFUL, SHREK).

Producers Daniel Nardicio and Andy Brattain will honor Edith Piaf, the iconic French songstress on her actual 100th Birthday with PIAF: A CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION with stars from Broadway, London's West End, Jazz, Cabaret and Rock 'n' Roll. Starring Elaine Paige, Christine Ebersole, Marilyn Maye, Vivian Reed, Little Annie, Gay Marshall, Molly Pope, Amber Martin, Aaron Weinstein and Meow Meow, the concert will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall(123 West 43rd Street).

Tony Taccone Will Now Direct AUBERGINE at Berkeley Rep in 2016

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that Michael Liebert Artistic Director Tony Taccone will direct the upcoming production of Aubergine, by Julia Cho, which is scheduled to have its world premiere performances at the Theatre in February 2016. Liesl Tommy, Berkeley Rep's former associate director, has had to withdraw from the production following the just-announced Broadway transfer of Eclipsed, which Tommy is directing at the Public Theater in New York.
