WELCOME HOME SONNY T to Play Theater for the New City, 12/5-22

In a neighborhood torn by gun violence between black and Mexican youth, a prominent black minister, haunted by the ghosts of his struggles as a 60's radical, faces his own impotence to restore order in 'Welcome Home Sonny T,' a new play written and directed by William Electric Black. Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present the work December 5 to 22, 2013.
Richard Pryor Jr. Comes to The Grove, 2/1-2/2

Richard Pryor Jr., son of the late, comic genius Richard Pryor, comes to The Grove on February 1st and 2nd. Mr. Pryor is a talented singer and actor who re-launched his career in 2006 in New York City as a tribute to his late father. As a small child Richard Jr. introduced his dad's shows and hasn't stopped performing since.

With a generous Sm(ART)s: Seniors Meet the Arts grant from the NYC Department for the Aging, City Council, and NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, NY Artists Unlimited is proud to partner with the Arturo Schomburg Senior Center, 1315 Franklin Avenue in the Bronx, to present a series of workshops from now until the end of June '08. The lineup includes workshops in dance, improvisation, theatre games, poetry, and more.

On Monday, March 5 at 9:30, Jim Caruso's Cast Party celebrated the release of the limited edition, vinyl 33 RPM long-playing record of the Grammy-nominated original cast recording of the five-time Tony-winning hit musical The Drowsy Chaperone.
