Citadel Theatre's 2019/20 Season To Feature The Bard, The Beatles, And Beheadings

Today, Citadel Theatre's Artistic Director, Daryl Cloran, announced his next season of programming, which includes another exciting international partnership for the Citadel, and many Canadian, North American, and World Premieres. The 2019/20 Season will feature a new series, Highwire, which promises innovative experiences for the theatrically adventurous. And, for the first time, the Citadel will offer a summer musical. It's an ambitious, thrilling season for the Citadel!

All For One Theater (AFO) is pleased to announce the return of Gideon Irving's  My Name Is Gideon: I'm Probably Going To Die, Eventually, which is being brought back due to popular demand.  The show will begin performances at The Brick Theater (579 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn) on  Friday, November 30th for a limited engagement through Thursday, December 15th.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents Big in Belgium-Chicago, a series of three acclaimed theatrical events representing the next wave of boundary-pushing European theater. Featured productions include a sweeping tribute to 2,500 years of oration, an engaging examination of free will-and the manipulation of it-in political elections, and a chilling look at tragedy and terror through the eyes of children. Curated by Chicago Shakespeare, Richard Jordan Productions, and David Bauwens, Big in Belgium-Chicago will be presented in the theater Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare, beginning with BigMouth on September 12, 2018. All Big in Belgium productions are performed in English.

From January 17 to February 3, 2018, the University Musical Society of the University of Michigan (UMS) presents No Safety Net, a three-week theater festival of four productions that foster timely conversations around slavery, terrorism, transgender identity, and radical wellness and healing. Two of the titles are U.S. premieres and will receive their only U.S. performances as part of No Safety Net. Performances will be held in Arthur Miller Theatre (1226 Murfin Ave, Ann Arbor) and the Stamps Gallery (201 S. Division St, Ann Arbor), with each title examining a different topic related to contemporary social issues.

At the age of 36 Franz Kafka was still living at home, a petty bureaucrat, a failed artist, a timid Jewish son.  Ruling and ruining his life was his overbearing father Hermann.  What to do?  Kafka wrote a 50 page letter to his father in which he reveals deep connections between his life and his fiction.  Adapted from this monumental letter, Kafka and Son is a blistering, often hilarious dissection of domestic authority and a revelatory visit with one of the architects of the modern psyche.
