Chicago Shakespeare Theater presents Big in Belgium-Chicago, a series of three acclaimed theatrical events representing the next wave of boundary-pushing European theater. Featured productions include a sweeping tribute to 2,500 years of oration, an engaging examination of free will-and the manipulation of it-in political elections, and a chilling look at tragedy and terror through the eyes of children. Curated by Chicago Shakespeare, Richard Jordan Productions, and David Bauwens, Big in Belgium-Chicago will be presented in the theater Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare, beginning with BigMouth on September 12, 2018. All Big in Belgium productions are performed in English.

Today the shortlist for the Total Theatre Awards 2018 was announced. From the shortlist announced today, a total of seven awards will be awarded across five categories: "Physical & Visual Theatre"; "Innovation, Experimentation & Playing with Form"; "Emerging"; "Circus"; and "Dance".

Chicago Shakespeare announces today fourteen productions in the Theater's 2018/19 Season-encompassing the dynamic and diverse range of offerings which have come to characterize a company that defies theatrical category. From January 17 to February 3, 2018, the University Musical Society of the University of Michigan (UMS) presents No Safety Net, a three-week theater festival of four productions that foster timely conversations around slavery, terrorism, transgender identity, and radical wellness and healing. Two of the titles are U.S. premieres and will receive their only U.S. performances as part of No Safety Net. Performances will be held in Arthur Miller Theatre (1226 Murfin Ave, Ann Arbor) and the Stamps Gallery (201 S. Division St, Ann Arbor), with each title examining a different topic related to contemporary social issues.

Back by popular demand, Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents the highly anticipated return of the cheeky holiday classic Q Brothers Christmas Carol, from hip-hop sensations the Q Brothers Collective and developed with CST Creative Producer Rick Boynton. After three wildly successful runs in 2013, 2014, and 2015 to sold-out houses, the raucous and irreverent musical event now takes the stage of the Theater's innovative third venue, The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare through December 31, 2017.

Following the huge success of the four previous seasons at Summerhall which have included the award-winning Us/Them, One Hundred Homes and The Great Downhill Journey of Little Tommy, Big in Belgium, Richard Jordan Productions, Summerhall and Theatre Royal Plymouth return to present a fifth BIG IN BELGIUM season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and featuring some of the most significant theatre companies from the Flemish part of Belgium. 

This week Tobacco Factory Theatres launches its most ambitious ever season of productions for Aug - Dec 2017, including five in-house productions throughout the autumn and at Christmas. In addition, the theatre announces a new chapter in its history: the creation of the Factory Company which will perform two electrifying plays between February and May 2018.

Tickets go on sale today, April 11, for the US debut for SOULPEPPER, Toronto's largest and most celebrated theatre company, in a four-week engagement Off-Broadway at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 West 42nd Street in New York City, it was announced by Albert Schultz, SOULPEPPER's Founding Artistic Director.

SRO Theatre Company's 2016-2017 season continues with The Lion In Winter, James Goldman's witty drama about family dysfunction and royal intrigue.

The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, presented by John Leguizamo, written, composed and directed by GQ and JQ and developed with Rick Boynton, will play its final performance on Sunday, January 15th, 2017.
