A glittering group representing theatre and technology worlds celebrated a beautiful friendship Saturday night when TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, staged its annual TheatreWorks Honors gala June 21 at the Palo Alto Hills Golf and Country Club, this year paying tribute to Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award-winning Broadway composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party, The Addams Family, Big Fish) and Ray Rothrock, Partner Emeritus of pioneering venture capital firm Venrock. Lincoln Center's MOSTLY MOZART FESTIVAL 2014 Opening Week Highlights

The 2014 Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, New York's acclaimed annual summer celebration of classical music, gets underway with an opening week of performances featuring the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, late night recitals and contemporary music, including two free events.

Summer is just around the corner, and we are looking ahead in anticipation to the start of Carnegie Hall's 2014-2015 season! Listed below are classical music highlights at Carnegie Hall, including details on UBUNTU: Music and Arts of South Africa, a three-week festival from October 10 to November 5, featuring an exciting array of events to be presented at Carnegie Hall and partner venues throughout New York City, inviting audiences to explore the incredibly dynamic and diverse culture of South Africa.

Marin Alsop Conducts BSO in Mahler's TITAN Tonight

Music Director Marin Alsop will lead the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in Mahler's Symphony No. 1, 'Titan' and Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini tonight, April 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Sendai International Music Competition and 2012 William Kapell International Piano Competition winner Yekwon Sunwoo joins the BSO to perform Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. 'Titan' is also the subject of Maestra Alsop's final Off the Cuff concert of the 2013-2014 season, Friday, April 25 at 8:15 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at the Meyerhoff.

Paquito D'Rivera to Lead Worksop, Concert for Young Jazz Musicians, 5/12-16

From May 12 to 16, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute will present a workshop for young jazz instrumentalists led by renowned Latin jazz artist Paquito D'Rivera. The prolific composer, conductor, clarinetist, and saxophonist teams up with members of his ensemble to mentor these young jazz musicians during an intensive weeklong workshop, co-designed by acclaimed bassist and educator Oscar Stagnaro, that culminates with a concert in Zankel Hall on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. During the concert, the young musicians will perform music composed by D'Rivera and other Latin jazz works alongside D'Rivera himself, Stagnaro, and other members of the Paquito D'Rivera Ensemble including pianist Alex Brown, percussionist Pernell Satuemino, trumpeter Diego Urcola, and drummer Mark Walker. The Celebrity Series of Boston Announces 2014-2015 Season

The Celebrity Series of Boston announced its 2014-2015 season today, marking 76 years of bringing the world's greatest performing artists to Boston. The season opens on Sunday, October 5, 2014 with Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini in recital. In total, the 2014-2015 season will include 46 music, dance and entertainment engagements. The 2014-15 season is sponsored by Amy and Joshua Boger.

Lincoln Center Announces MOSTLY MOZART FESTIVAL 2014, 7/25-8/23

Jane Moss, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director, today announced the 48th season of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, New York's acclaimed annual summer celebration of classical music, which runs from July 25-August 23, 2014. This year's Festival will feature more than 35 events across several venues including concerts, opera, dance, pre-concert recitals and lectures, late-night performances, contemporary music, and premieres of two commissioned works. The Festival kicks off with two free events: the world premiere of a new work by John Luther Adams, performed July 25 and 26 for free on Hearst Plaza, in a joint presentation with Lincoln Center Out of Doors, and continuing an annual tradition, the free preview concert by the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra at Avery Fisher Hall on July 26. Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree returns for his 12th season to conduct the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra, which will perform a wide range of works anchored by the Festival's featured namesake. Mostly Mozart will also present world-renowned artists and returning Festival favorites, such as violinist Joshua Bell, Mark Morris Dance Group, Emerson String Quartet and Artists-in-Residence International Contemporary Ensemble, as well as 14 Festival debuts, including pianists Yuja Wang and Steven Osborne, and violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja.

Ensemble of the Romantic Century Presents TCHAIKOVSKY: NONE BUT THE LONELY HEART, Now thru 3/9

Celebrating its 13th season, the Ensemble of the Romantic Century (ERC) presents Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart at The Fishman Space in the new BAM Fisher. A fully staged theatrical concert blending striking music, powerful language and biography, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart delves into the unconventional 16-year long relationship between one of the great composers of the 19th century and his patroness, Madame von Meck. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this evening-length production seamlessly interweaves a dramatic script performed by actor Simon Fortin (Tchaikovsky) and actress Ariel Bock (Madame von Meck) of Shakespeare & Company with live chamber and vocal music performed by violinist Rachel Lee Priday, cellist Adrian Daurov, pianist Eve Wolf and tenor Blake Friedman. Featuring some of Tchaikovsky's epic pieces including Piano Trio in A Minor, Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart represents some of the composer's balletic works through dance both choreographed and performed by American Ballet Theatre dancer Daniel Mantei.

American Classical Orchestra Kicks Off HANDELFEST with Family Concert Today

Join the American Classical Orchestra for HANDELFEST, the first festival event from ACO that celebrates the music of Handel during the month of March. The festivities get under way with a family-friendly concert at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament (152 W 71st St) featuring some of Handel's most uplifting works. New Jersey Symphony Presents Grieg's Piano Concerto with Xiaohui Yang, Now thru 3/2

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents Grieg's Piano Concerto on a program that also features Dvor?a?k's Eighth Symphony and Sibelius' Spring Song today, February 27-March 2 in Englewood, Red Bank and Newark. Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali, a 26-year-old prote?ge? of Gustavo Dudamel whom Gramophone has called a 'dynamic young Finn' whose 'career is developing at a rapid pace,' makes his NJSO debut. The March 2 performance at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark is the NJSO's second College Night event of the season.

'The NY Philharmonic This Week' Radio Broadcast to Kick Off 2014 with Soloist Thomas Hampson

The January broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - begin with an all-American New Year's Eve Concert conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert with Thomas Hampson as soloist. The program, recorded on New Year's Eve in 2009, includes Copland's Suite from Appalachian Spring and Old American Songs (selections), in addition to selections from Broadway musicals and Gershwin's An American in Paris. The following week, composer-conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts the New York Concert Premiere of his Violin Concerto, featuring Leila Josefowicz as soloist, as well as Ravel's Mother Goose Suite, and Sibelius's Symphony No. 5.
