Following its critically acclaimed UK tour, The Merchant of Venice 1936 transfers to London’s West End for a limited season at the Criterion Theatre, from 15 February – 23 March.

Set in a trendy warehouse flat in Peckham, What's In A Name follows the ups and downs of a friendly dinner party. The original play that inspired the Academy Award-winning film The King's Speech, comes to the Lyceum Theatre from Monday 13 April to Saturday 18 April starring Jason Donovan as speech therapist Lionel Logue and Raymond Coulthard as King George VI.

It's 1936. As the world stands on the brink of war, King Edward VIII has abdicated for the love of Wallis Simpson. Bertie, his brother who has previously shied away from the public eye because of a terrible stammer, is to be crowned King George VI of England. With the support of his wife Elizabeth (the future much-loved Queen Mother), Bertie meets Maverick Australian speech therapist and failed actor, Lionel Logue, at an office in Harley Street.

Debuting earlier this month in Chichester, The King's Speech opened to critical acclaim. The show is a co-production with the Birmingham Repertory Theatre where I had the privilege of watching last night. When the film was released in 2010 starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush, it became the most successful independent British production at the UK box office taking £250m and winning a series of Oscars.

RSC Associate Director Roxana Silbert is directing a new production of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure in the Swan Theatre as part of the Winter Season. The play previews from 17 November 2011 and runs in repertoire in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon until 10 March 2012.
