Cleveland Public Theatre Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce ROAD TO HOPE at LAKEVIEW TERRACE, one of a series of free performing arts events-inspired by the triumphs of the Underground Railroad-that celebrate hope, honor Cleveland history and engage with contemporary social justice issues. Activities will take place in six Cleveland-area neighborhoods from January through June 2016, produced in conjunction with Cleveland Public Theatre's third annual Station Hope celebration on April 30 at historic St. John's Episcopal Church, Cleveland's first authenticated Underground Railroad site.

When the mention of the name Frankenstein is made, the common visual reference is that of Boris Karloff, who was a large green monster with screws in his head, as featured in the 1931 horror film. Karloff, in fact, played Frankenstein's monster, not Henry Frankenstein, the young scientist who created the being from parts collected from various sources, including the brain of a criminal, which was brought to life through electrical devices.

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman Jane Chu announced 69 Our Town awards totaling almost $5 million through the Our Town program's fifth year of funding. Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is one of those recommended organizations and will receive $150,000 for Station Hope 2016. The NEA received 275 applications for Our Town this year and will make grants ranging from $25,000 to $200,000.
