Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter present the New York premiere of the new play, Hit The Wall by Ike Holter, a theatrical exploration of the first night of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, at the Barrow Street Theatre. Directed by Eric Hoff, with original music & music supervision by Dan Lipton, performances for Hit The Wall begin on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street at 7th Avenue), with an opening night set for Sunday, March 10, 2013. Motherlodge Live Arts Exchange returns to Joe's Pub at The Public for a special one-night-only fundraiser for the organization curated by Michael Arthur (Balthrop, Alabama, Joe's Pub and La Jolla Playhouse's archival artist) and Motherlodge founder Ray Rizzo (drummer with Dawn Landes, Corporal and others). Motherlodge is a touring, presenting organization that creates space, or "lodges" in different cities where artists from different geographic locations can share what they do and work together to create new interdisciplinary artworks. Motherlodge's 'A Fleetwood Mac Orgy' at Joe's Pub promises to be a cosmos-shattering night of Broadway and downtown performers colliding with rockers from Brooklyn and Kentucky. The fundraiser will help pay for promotion, production costs, gas and lodging for artists who will join for the Motherlodge in Louisville at the end of March. Over 20 years in the making, singer songwriter Glen Hansard will release his first ever solo album, Rhythm and Repose, on Anti- Records today, June 19. Best known for his work with The Frames, The Swell Season and in the feature film Once, for which he won an Academy Award, Rhythm and Repose is Hansard's debut solo album and first album of new material since his 2009 release Strict Joy with The Swell Season. The album will be available for pre-sale at the Anti Store. In recent months Hansard has been seen in the documentary The Swell Season which has toured the film festival circuit this year, contributed two songs to the blockbuster soundtrack, The Hunger Games, and been active in the promotion of Once, The Musical which successfully opened on Broadway on March 18.
