The Toledo Repertoire Theatre has announced its upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis with Music & Lyrics by David Bryan and Book & Lyrics by Joe DiPietro.

The world premiere of Diary of a Ukrainian Madman or The Innocence of the Pangolins, a new comedy inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s classic Diary of a Madman by Ukrainian playwright and artist Liudmyla Tymoshenko, will open at the Finborough Theatre for a three week limited season on Tuesday, 13 August 2024.

Originally released on Absolutely Free in 1967, the track shows off the quick wit and crooning style of the wonderful singer Ray Collins. The song, played in the first of the three sets that night, was written as a parody of the days when Zappa played the Calif. bar circuit in the early ‘60s. This release follows a previously unreleased version of “The Duke,” which at the time of the Whisky ’68 recording was a brand new composition. Listen to the song now!

Next year, film aficionados can enjoy a yearlong journey spanning nine decades of cinema history, through a dozen of some of the movie industry’s greatest titles, as Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies present the seventh annual TCM Big Screen Classics series.

Conor Begley has struck gold for Bardic Theatre this past weekend having been chosen as the 2017/18 winner of AIMS 'Best Actor' Award for his recent portrayal of Judas Iscariot in Bardic's dazzling production of Jesus Christ Superstar earlier this year.
