Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural event, Aperture Australia will return to Sydney International Convention Centre (ICC) in Darling Harbour on the weekend of 22-23 June.

Six industry legends including National Geographic photojournalist Ami Vitale, Australian landscape photography icon Christian Fletcher, ocean photographer Ray Collins, digital photographic artist Tamara Dean, and conflict photojournalist Stephen Dupont will talk openly about their most iconic work as well as the raw reality of the profession, with acclaimed TV journalist and avid photographer Ray Martin taking the reins as host of the event.

"Photography is one of the greatest art forms of all time, and we succeeded in reminding Australia of that with our inaugural event last year," said Aperture Australia Director Glenn Mckimmin.

"The feedback we've received from last year was truly humbling, and we are very excited to bring yet another outstanding lineup of exceptionally talented international and local speakers to get down to the nitty-gritty of the photography profession," Mckimmin said.

Over two days, 1,000 amateur and professional photographers can immerse themselves in the world of photography, and develop their skills, knowledge and connections by hearing enticing behind-the-scene stories and insider tips from some of the finest photographers in the industry.

Alongside the conference talks and live discussion panels, one lucky young photography gun will win an opportunity to jump start their career at Aperture Australia.

"We hope to inspire and empower the new generation of Australian photographers via the 2019 Emerging Photographer Competition. The winner will receive a 15-minute on-stage interview with Ray Martin to present their photographic work, a double pass to the conference (valued at $990), an exclusive VIP dinner with the speakers, and a one-hour mentoring session with an iconic Australian photographer," Mckimmin explained.

To enter, individuals must complete the entry form at www.apertureaustralia.com.au/2019-emerging-photographer. Tickets of Aperture Australia are available through www.apertureaustralia.com.au from $495 for a Weekend Pass to $900 for a premium VIP seat.
