Actress and former Miss America, Lee Meriwether, was honored in Los Angeles on February 10th by Theatre West; the theatre company she helped found 55 years ago. Aside from originating the role of Catwomen on Batman in the 1960s, Meriwether starred in such series as Time Tunnel, Barnaby Jones, All My Children, Star Trek and many more.
Musical comedy is alive and well and on network television thanks to the exuberant genius of Rachel Bloom, the Golden Globe-winning star and writer of The CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. An NYU Tisch and Upright Citizens Brigade alum, Bloom burst onto the scene in 2010 with several viral YouTube videos-including the Hugo-nominated 'f**k Me, Ray Bradbury'-that established her as a one-woman sketch comedy act and opened the door to television writing.

The world premiere of All Summer in a Day, a new musical based on Ray Bradbury's short story premieres Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Ashby Stage in Berkeley. Created by two current students of Oakland School for the Arts, the performance is presented through Shotgun Players' Make A Difference (MAD) program and features an all youth creative team and cast.

United Solo, the world's largest solo theatre festival, concluded its eighth season with a Gala at Theatre Row in New York. Throughout its ten-week run, the festival offered 120 stage productions, representing six continents, performed mostly in English, but also in Bulgarian, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and in the category of physical theatre through body language. Nearly 60 shows sold out, and were presented several times due to popular demand. Fiona Show called United Solo 'the mecca of the solo shows in the world.' This past season, the festival presented productions created by new talents, as well as show business veterans, including Oscar winner Milton Justice and Emmy winner Bill Oberst Jr. This year's festival also offered Master Classes led by Pau Aran Gimeno, a performer at Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch; James Lecesne, an actor, activist, author of the screenplay for an Oscar-winning film; and Austin Pendleton, a renowned actor and director, and a recipient of the Drama Desk Special Award.

Based upon the novel by Ray Bradbury, SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES, . presented by Delaware Theatre Company and co-produced with Yonge Street Theatricals, is a vaudevillian, visual delight adapted by Brian Hill, with Neil Bartram as the show's composer. We are first introduced to a lightening rod salesman (Steve Pacek) who acts as the narrator for the tale. He introduces us to Will Halloway, (John Francis Babbo) a skittish and oft neglected teen. Opposite is Jim Nightshade, (Sawyer Nunes) a freedom seeker, who is rebelling against his smothering mother and their sleepy town.
