Award-winning producers Randy Taradash, Paul Boskind and Martian Entertainment, and Gregory Rae announced complete casting today for the original musical BARE. The company will feature Taylor Trensch (Peter), Jason Hite (Jason) and Elizabeth Judd (Ivy), with Gerard Canonico (Matt), Jerold E. Solomon (Father Mike), Barrett Wilbert Weed (Nadia) and Missi Pyle (Sister Joan). They will be joined by Casey Garvin (Zack), Ariana Groover (Vanessa), Sara Kapner (Madison), Nick Laughlin (Swing), Alice Lee (Diane), Megan Lewis (Swing), Justin Gregory Lopez (Beto), Michael Tacconi (Nick) and Alex Wyse (Alan).

BroadwayWorld has learned that the musical BARE may be getting a staged reading in New York in October. Randy Taradash and Martian Entertainment will produce the reading of the Damon Intrabartolo and Jon Hartmere piece. Stafford Arima will direct and Lynne Shankel will musical direct. The reading would begin either October 23 or October 24 and run through October 31.

ACT's David Mamet Writing Contest Winners Announced

After reading and evaluating more than 60 entries in the days following the January 11 deadline of A.C.T.'s third David Mamet Writing Contest, the eleven winners of the contest have been announced. Held in conjunction with A.C.T.'s smash hit production of Mamet's Speed-the-Plow-playing through February 3-the contest drew more than 60 entries from around the country, and as far away as Sweden.
