There's not a rotten one in the bunch! 12 mega-talented semi-finalists will perform in the 3rd Annual "Tomatoes Got Talent" singers contest at The Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street, on Sunday March 13 at 3pm.
Randie Levine-Miller is co-producing with Cheryl Benton of The Three Tomatoes, as well as hosting this year's talent competition featuring women over 40 who have segued to other careers.
The Algonquin Kid is based on Michael's experience as child being raised at the opulent and historic landmark building in NYC of The Algonquin Hotel. Located in the heart of NYC, this palatial haven to talent Icons from Ella Fitzgerald to the most unknown up and comers, The Algonquin Hotel's history has housed more talent in NYC than any other structure still in existence. Beautifully woven together by Mr. Colby, The Algonquin Kid-The Musical combines both his personal journey as a child with original material by Mr. Colby in addition to a slew of musical favorites from the American Songbook. This weave helps tell the story of his life growing up in the glory days at this incredible Hotel. The Algonquin Hotel was owned by Mr. Colby's Grandparents, Ben & Mary Bodne from 1946-1987.

Minda Larsen eeked out a MetroStar win last night, finishing on top of a strong and tightly matched Top Five line-up in a spellbinding contest finale at the Metropolitan Room. To win the 8th annual MetroStar Talent Challenge Larsen captivated the judges with her confessional and inspirational story of having competed in the contest three other times (unsuccessfully) and dramatically changing her attitude about her work this time around. The attitude adjustment succeeded as Larsen soared in the finale, beating out the delightful everyman Thomas Dieter (1st runner-up) and gloriously-voiced Josephine Sanges (2nd runner up). The two other Top 5 finalists were Lisa Remick and April Leonhard.
In nail-bitingly close voting Monday night, the MetroStar Talent Challenge bid farewell to two audience favorites in a hotly contested semi-final round. Let go by the jury were the contest's popular 9th grader Josephine Bianco and the veteran piano bar performer Sheree Sano.

Akin Babatunde (Blind Lemon Blues) directs this two character play based on a true story, with music supervision by Amy Jones.
