Auditorium Theatre Celebrates Frank Sinatra's 100th Birthday with HIS WAY Tonight

Classic cool and retro glam fill the air as the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University marks the 100th birthday of legendary singer and entertainer Frank Sinatra with 'His Way -- Sinatra's Centennial Celebration,' starring Chicago's own Ron Hawking. The musical tribute comes to the Auditorium, tonight, May 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks 2015 Lineup Announced

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST), the City of Chicago, Chicago Park District and Boeing partner to present the annual citywide summer tradition, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks. This summer, 24 performances of Shakespeare's Greatest Hits travel to 17 neighborhood parks across Chicago, FREE FOR ALL, July 19-August 16, 2015. Shakespeare's memorable characters come to life in a unique and surprising mash-up of scenes from his most celebrated plays. From Hamilton Park and Garfield Park Conservatory to Washington Park and Gage Park, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks is the single largest professional urban tour of a Shakespearean production, activating communities and giving Chicagoans direct access to their City's cultural treasures.

Goodman Theatre Plans for Alice B. Rapoport Center for Education and Engagement

Tommy Tune Set for Chicago Human Rhythm Project's 25th Anniversary Jubalee, 7/30

Art Institute of Chicago to Garner Largest Gift of Art in Museum's History

CHICAGO —Douglas Druick, President and Eloise W. Martin Director of the Art Institute of Chicago, announced today the largest gift of art in the museum's 136-year history: the Edlis/Neeson Collection, 42 iconic masterpieces of contemporary art donated by the Chicago-based collectors and philanthropists Stefan T. Edlis and his wife, Gael Neeson. The gift includes nine works by Andy Warhol, three paintings by Jasper Johns, one Robert Rauschenberg Combine, two paintings by Roy Lichtenstein, four paintings by Gerhard Richter, and a painting and sculpture by Cy Twombly. Works by Brice Marden, Eric Fischl, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Charles Ray, Takashi Murakami, Katharina Fritsch, Cindy Sherman, Richard Prince, and John Currin complete the exceptional gift.

Ethan Lipton to Release New Album

Coming off their highly successful tour of No Place To Go, which The New York Times hailed as 'immensely appealing' and Time Out New York called 'a wry, gently angry defense of classic New York humanity,' Ethan Lipton & His Orchestra are as tight a band as any you'll find. Their time together on the road has resulted in their most cohesive work to date, Raw Milk, which they'll release on May 26. The band continues their monthly residency at Joe's Pub at The Public through June (April 30, May 20, June 27), with more dates being announced soon.
