 Today, Dance Consortium, a group of 17 large scale venues located across the UK, announces full details of its 40th tour, Danza Contemporánea de Cuba's UK Tour 2017. Last seen in the UK in 2012, Cuba's vibrant flagship contemporary dance company will present an exciting programme choreographed by some of today's most sought-after choreographic names. The 2017 UK tour opens at Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham on 14 February and concludes at Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury on 18 March.

Sydney Dance Company and Carriageworks' NEW BREED Program to Open in December

Co-presented by two of Australia's most dynamic arts organisations - Carriageworks and Sydney Dance Company - with generous support from The Balnaves Foundation, New Breed 2016 will provide Australian choreographers Rachel Arianne Ogle (Perth), Shian Law (Melbourne), Jesse Scales (Adelaide) and Richard Cilli  (Perth) with an invaluable opportunity to work with Australia's finest contemporary dancers on the creation of a newly commissioned dance work. The four new works created by the New Breed 2016 choreographers will be co-presented at Sydney's premier multi-arts precinct, Carriageworks, from 29 November to 10 December 2016.

Malpaso Dance Company returns in 2016 to the scene of their overwhelming, standing- room-only triumph in the 2015 YARD ARTS season with two (2) new and different programs - 1) a sparkling repertory of Cuban and American works on Tuesday, August 16th at the MVPAC in Oak Bluffs (at 7 PM); and 2) a work in progress, Dreaming of Lions, based on Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea," developed in part in a Yard 2016 Offshore Creation Residency, on Thursday, August 18th, at The Yard's Patricia Nanon Theater (2 performances, at 11 AM and 8 PM).

Sharon Kam to Step in for Martin Frost for Australian Chamber Orchestra Performance at Carnegie Hall, 4/26

Carnegie Hall today announced that acclaimed clarinetist Sharon Kam has agreed to step in for Martin Frost, performing on Sunday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. in Zankel Hall with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and Artistic Director Richard Tognetti. The program, which remains unchanged, features Ms. Kam performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major. The chamber orchestra will also perform the New York premiere of Water, a new work by Radiohead guitarist Johnny Greenwood, along with Haydn's Symphony No. 83 in G Minor, 'The Hen,' and Prokofiev's witty piano miniatures, Visions fugitives, Op. 22, arranged for orchestra by Mr. Tognetti and Rudolf Barshai. Mr. Frost has had to withdraw from Sunday's performance due to a shoulder injury. Complete event information is below.
