Chicago Women's Funny Festival Announces 2017 Lineup

Stage 773 Director of Theatre Management Jill Valentine and co-producer Liz McArthur have announced the highly anticipated lineup for the 6th Annual Chicago Women's Funny Festival, taking place June 15 through June 18 at the comedy hub of Chicago, Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont.

L.A. Performance Artist Rachel Mason to Release Single Tigers in the Dark'

Renowned performance artist and musician Rachel Mason, freshly signed to Los Angeles-based Cleopatra Records, has announced her forthcoming single 'Tigers in the Dark', along with an accompanying video, directed by Matthew Spiegelman and choreographed by Haylee Nichele. This is the first single from the forthcoming album 'Das Ram'.The single, which is due out on September 9, will be followed by the 'Das Ram' LP, to be released digitally by Cleopatra Records and on limited edition cassette by Practical Records. 

Two Chicago Summer Festivals Set for This Weekend

The largest Scottish cultural organization in North America, the CHICAGO SCOTS, celebrates three decades of providing entertainment and Scottish culture with a modern twist this June, with their annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games. Belmont. The Chicago Women's Funny Festival, the largest of its kind in the nation, features all forms of comedy- from 'highbrow musical improv' to 'relatable stand-up' to 'character driven sketch', as comediennes gather together from across the globe. With over 83 shows packed into four days, Stage 773 has made it easier than ever to discover new groups to love, allowing patrons to filter through art forms, a rating and keywords to find their own taste in comedy. The event packs 83 shows, featuring over 500 performers in 161 groups into four funny-filled days. The Kitchen and the Goethe-Institut to Present ORIGINALE

Fifty years after its storied New York premiere, The Kitchen and the Goethe-Institut will present a 21st-century staging of Originale, a music-theater piece by pioneering German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen (1928-2007). Directed by Big Art Group's Caden Manson and Jemma Nelson, this staging, much like it's 1964 New York premiere, will feature a notable cross-section of contemporary performance artists and musicians whose actions are organized by Stockhausen's score and accompanied by noted electroacoustic compositions, such as his Kontakte.

Rachel Mason to Premiere THE LIVES OF HAMILTON FISH at Spectacle Theater, 5/30

Rachel Mason is a highly prolific New York-based sculptor, songwriter and performer. Both solo and with her band, Little Band of Sailors, she has shared stages and collaborated with artists such as Prince Rama, Light Asylum, Josephine Foster, Joan of Arc, Sharon Von Etten, White Mystery and Ed Askew, among others.
