Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has been hosting Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins, a 3 day non-stop theater festival, for 24 years. This year will be the 25th Annual Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins Theater Festival. This festival was originally created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in Bethesda, NY. This would be the 44th anniversary of Woodstock. To celebrate the silver anniversary of Abbie Fest, as it is affectionately known as, it will be produced at The Den Theater, 1333 N. Milwaukee in Chicago. It will be on the weekend of August 9, 10, & 11. This expands the festival to 3 times its size. There will be 3 stages and 3 more performing groups and individuals than usual. There is anticipation of onwards of 150 performing groups and individuals. Each group will provide 1 hour or less of material. The mark of a successful fest is that each group performs only one time. That may not necessarily happen but that is the goal. The festivities will begin with a march from the Daly Plaza starting at 3 p.m. back to The Den and kick off is at 7p.m. with the opening ceremonies featuring Richard Cotovsky as Abbie Hoffman.

Shit-faced Shakespeare by Magnificent Bastard Productions is an entirely serious production of Much Ado about Nothing with the addition of an entirely shit-faced cast member. The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF)'s fourteenth season will include a slate of full-length plays and musicals, as well as Short Subjects. MadLab and ShepheRD Productions will present The Empire Builders by Boris Vian. Written in 1957, this classic work seems to have been lost to history. With only a couple dozen productions done in the United States since it was written, MadLab and Shepherd are proud to co-produce this unknown piece. Empire Builders will be performed, at 8:00, Thursdays-Saturdays, tonight, June 13-15 and June 20-22 at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St. Columbus.

Wayward Productions in association with Chicago Fusion Theatre presents William Shakepeare's tragic masterpiece RICHARD III at The Den Theatre.

Wayward Productions re-immerses itself into the underworld of a motorcycle gang to create an environmental reinterpretation of this classic Shakespearean Tragi-History. Wayward's 'royal family' is The Warlocks Motorcycle Club and their 'castle'-London's bar in early 1970's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. CBS announced today a new broadcast agreement with The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing that will keep the annual TONY Awards broadcast on the CBS Television Network through 2018. The awards show, which honors theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been a part of the CBS family for the past 35 years.
