Barefoot Theatre Company continues its bareNaked Reading Series (Molly Marinik, Program Director; Jennie West, Co-Producer) with a reading of Trish Harnetiaux's new play WELCOME TO THE WHITE ROOM directed by Benjamin Kamine on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 7:00pm.
The reading of WELCOME TO THE WHITE ROOM is free, with extremely limited seating available. To inquire about admission please email barefootRSVP@aol.com.
In WELCOME TO THE WHITE ROOM, we discover Ms. White, Jennings, and Mr. Paine shortly after they have arrived. We follow their journey as they attempt to figure out exactly what they are meant to be doing. There are letters that only Ms. White can read. There is the arrival of The Last Deck of Cards in the World - and with, at all times, one-thing-leading-to-another - somewhere between throwing a party, suppressing sexual tensions, and dancing a tango - this senseless world summons it's puppeteer, who's in for a big surprise.
Directed by Benjamin Kamine, the reading of WELCOME TO THE WHITE ROOM will feature a cast of Anna Chlumsky (Veep, My Girl), Aidan Koehler, Luke Leonard, Richard Toth and Jacob A. Ware. With special musical guest Cory Kosel.
The bareNaked Reading Series has thus far presented readings of Joe Pintauro's SNOW ORCHID, Mike Reiss' RUBBLE, Hilary Bettis' ALLIGATOR, and Mando Alvarado's ON THE 5:31 in New York City, and NEW PLAYS including works by Israel Horovitz, Tyler Pascett, Michael Reyes, Danelle Eliav, Jennifer Skura, Jason Furlani, Jonathan Libman and Kristina Poe in Los Angeles.
In 1999, Barefoot Theatre Company (Producing Artistic Director, Francisco Solorzano) was founded by a multicultural group of artists determined to produce vital, thought-provoking works, both new and existing. We embrace the importance of the collaborative process, nurture our ensemble commitment, and continue to learn from the younger generations we mentor. Barefoot Theatre Company's most recent collaborations include the Off Broadway Revival of Pintauro's Raft Of The Medusa as well as a workshop of the new play, F**KING VIGWAN (OR SWAG) by Pulitzer Prize nominee Kristoffer Diaz both at the legendary Cherry Lane Theatre.
All readings will be held at "The Loft" (East 3RD Productions) 684 Broadway, #5W - corner of Broadway and East 3rd Street. Admission is free with a confirmed RSVP, however seating is limited. To RSVP please send the play title, number of seats requested and contact information to barefootRSVP@aol.com, a member of the Barefoot Theatre Company will inform you if confirmed.
